Making the Best of 2017

So I have a 2017 BRZ, and so do a lot of you.

I have issues with the radio reception. It is the worst of any car I've driven.
How can I make it better?

EX: I turned off the Sound Restorer feature because my favorite radio station 93.3 FM kept dropping the highs and lows, on and off (and volume too). It appeared to happen at the same time that the HD12 light appears and disappears.

Does anyone know the technical reason for this?

That is the HD radio cutting in and out. Turn off the HD radio, it won't sound as good but won't cut in and out with the HD off.

Well, I would cut down on booze, stop womanising and make more use of the gym. Get rid of the car and put the money in a bank so that you save up for old age.

That's a good start even though we are almost halfway through the year... Never too late to make the best of 2017.

But I am already of old age...

You could always look into installing a larger better antenna. I highly doubt the antenna's in our car are very big or very good.

It's almost like the antenna isn't connected. It's the worse reception of all my vehicles. Most of my stations fade in and out of HD. I think I'll get it checked at the dealer.

It's supposed to be a powered antenna, might be that it's not getting juice. That would mess up reception.

Mine does the same exact thing. Let me know what the dealer says

Me too. Far and away the worst radio reception I've experienced.

My main concern is the lag though. It's like a 2-3 second delay from any input from the steering wheel control or through my phone.

This thread surprises. I just now walked in from a drive and was thinking how good the FM sounds in this car, better than other sources. My reception is solid, though I can't speak to sensitivity as only listen to one station, KCSM Jazz 91.1, in an urban setting.
