Has anyone installed a upgraded resonator with the stock exhaust?

Just curious if folks have tied to tweak the stock exhaust for sound by removing the stock resonator box and installing a aftermarket unit. from my search I see a lot of removal of the stock resonator threads (not surprising), but I'm curious how a better resonator might impact the sound of the stock exhaust.

I'm looking for cost effective ways to improve the sound (less rasp, deeper tone).

An easier option would be to look into axleback exhausts or a muffler-delete pipe.

Better resonator (ends up being slightly quieter than stock):

No resonator:

As you can tell, a better resonator will make the car much quieter on a stock exhaust.

Thanks for the color. At the end of the day I'm looking for more of a mechanical exhaust sound (similar to a Porsche..yes, I know its not a H6) that is less rumble. I think the extra resonator may help with that.
