Stock Pioneer headunit issue
I am having issues with my stock Pioneer head unit. I used to be able to get in the car and the Bluetooth would automatically connect and I could start a song and it would play through the speakers.
Now for some reason when I get in the car it says my phone is connected on the head unit and on my phone, but when I hit play on a song it plays through the phone speakers. I've tried messing with the Bluetooth settings and deleting my phone and reconnecting but no luck. Any help is appreciated. |
my head unit has two option for a bluetooth device
1. phone only 2. music only I use my personal phone for calls and my work phone for streaming music |
Is the phone set to media and calls in the Bluetooth settings? I disabled media on Bluetooth because I want to use an AUX cord.
Hold down Bluetooth when you're connected to your car. |
I got it working. Must be some setting in there somewhere I accidentally changed. I just unhooked my battery and hooked it back up. Must have reset the setting.

I'm pretty sure it was on the phone side vs the car. Next time it happens to go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and a make sure the output is set to "car audio" also just pairing and repairing via Bluetooth with your phone should work also.
I bet you updated your phone which messed with some settings for registered Bluetooth devices. Either way glad it's working again. |
