Front pipe loudness order?

Hello guys, I'm trying to get a front pipe and have several options in mind.

1. Straight catless FP (without resonator)
2. Resonated catless FP (with resonator)
3. High flow catted FP
4. Stock FP

Regardless the rest parts of our exhaust, what the loudness order of them will be? Will HFC front pipe be significantly louder than stock one?

I'm guessing
straight FP>Resonated FP>HFC FP>Stock
but just not sure between Resonated and HFC, which one will be louder? And will HFC front pipe be significantly louder than stock one?

Thanks in advance!

Catless will be raspier. A resonator will help the tone and quiet it down a bit, but the cat makes the biggest difference.

JDL makes their ultra quiet front pipe; it's catted and resonated.

Have you done a catless header and tune yet? If not, changing the front pipe won't make a big difference other than noise.

I have a JDL UEL header and Borla catback. Yes I'm running OFT UEL tune.

Just want to make the sound a little bit louder and deeper but hesitating between Invidia Resonated FP and High Flow Catted FP (like Berk).

So the reason I asked this question is just want to figure out which one is louder?

Keep in mind that their is more than just loud involved. As said you will get rasp without a resonator. It will be loudest yes but can also sound horrible. Best bet is the resonated.

Quiet to loud:
Stock
Effectively resonated front pipe (with or without HFC)
Ineffectivey resonated front pipe (with or without HFC)
Straight front pipe

I say "effective" because too many aftermarket front pipes with a cat uses the same sized 200 or 300-cell HFC that started out as an universal application. It may be useful for reducing tailpipe emissions or to meet a standard in a racing series, but it's ineffective at reducing sound.

When it comes to sound output, you have to keep in mind that just because something is there to restrict the flow doesn't mean it actually suppresses sound. Two of the quietest front pipes I've tested include Fujitsubo (two resonators no cat) and Apex'i (one large resonator one cat). The Berk front pipe is around 4db louder than stock when paired up with the stock muffler, so having a HFC or not is no guarantee of sound suppression.

Sorry for the bump, better than creating a new thread for the same thing?

- Can anyone who has switched from a Catless, Resonated to a HFC front pipe confirm this is accurate?
- Also considering the Ultra quiet JDL which is HFC and resonated i believe. Does anyone know the weight?

I have a JDL UEL, OP, Catless Resonated FP, and a big titanium single exit. Trying to reduce the rasp and overall loudness a little bit without gaining too much weight.

Put your stock front pipe back on or put on a more quiet catback.

You can try the HKS dual resonated front pipe. Switching back to OEM might be your best bet tho as mentioned above.

This.

I went from the OEM front pipe to the HKS dual resonated. Everything else on the exhaust is stock and there really isn't much of a loudness difference during normal driving. And only slightly louder when WOT.

In my previous set-up, the catback was the main offender when it came to drone.

Jdl catted and resonator here, sounds great.
