Ontario Time Attack
 

Hey guys! Didn't see a thread here for Ontario Time Attack so I decided to start one up for everyone to know and see the schedule and rates.

WHO:
Canadian Automobile Sport Clubs (CASC) - Ontario Region has a time attack division - website here: http://time-attack.ca/about-ontario-time-attack/

WHAT:
Time attack means you are competing against the clock to nail down your best run which is then compared to others in similar class. OTA runs either iPAX rules or GTA ruleset. Official rules here: http://time-attack.ca/rules/

WHY:
Some of the best grassroots and even semi pro drivers competing in very reasonable classes means your FRZ doesn't wind up accidentally in the same class as a V8 Miata. Classing is quite tight and makes total sense. Even if you don't want to compete, OTA offers lapping in the morning before shutting down the track for competition. Come lap and then come watch the big guns duke it out.

I'll be lapping during the GP school (and as as photog, wife will be there as one of the instructors), and will there on the 25th and 29th as the event photog.

Less than 48 HOURS to go before the 2017 Ontario Time Attack's first event of the season!

Spectating, as always is FREE. Bring your friends, family and any motorheads you know of out to TMP! Lots of safe places to watch the action on this flat course!

Open lapping is now closed (we are full) but if you sign up for competition, you will get morning lapping along with the rest of the other open lappers.

The Ontario Time Attack season continues on with our 3rd and 4th event on July 29th and 30th (back to back!).

Come on out for morning lapping or sign up for the whole day (morning lapping and competition) to see if you can claim top time for your class (or maybe even the event?)!

OTA's Event #3 and #4 have now been completed!

It was a SUPER great weekend and we couldn't have asked for better weather. A couple of guys had mechanical issues but everyone went home safe and sound (with maybe a few bruised egos).

I had a personal ground breaking moment on the Saturday event and kept the momentum going throughout the weekend. Here are my videos! Please ignore the speed readouts on the Saturday video, my OBD readout is laggy lately and its definitely not indicative of what is really going on.

UPDATE!

To celebrate the success of the 2017 OTA season, we will be hosting a BBQ dinner on Saturday night, August 26th and the BBQ is FREE to all competitors! If you want in but aren't driving, tickets for this BBQ are going for $10!
