18 inch rim fitment questions for stock suspension
 

looking to get some 18 inch rims (undecided on style torn between 3 or 4 different ones).... but anyway i am not an expert at wheels/ suspension and have some question.

i live where roads suck and am unable to lower the car and still keep it practical, so im looking for the best look i can get with stock suspension

Goal: Wheel gap filled much as possible, flush with body but no poke.

looking at getting 18x8 or 18x8.5. ive read fitment guides but still just seem little confused on how to get both wheels flush while having the same offset front and back. (do i need spacers?) dont want to do camber unless necessary.

But anyway if someone could help me out with specs for how to get flush fitment front and back with 18x8 and 18x8.5 and what tire combination would fill wheel gap much as possible. thanks in advance

If the roads suck, then it is not the best decision to fit a 18 inch rim. You need more tire on the sides and a bit softer (e.g. a touring tire), that will work together with the suspension. Additionally, your suspension will not be able to handle the 18x8 or 18x8.5 width and you'll need to change also the suspension. If you want definitely a 18 rim, then try to stay at most with a 7.5 width ...

To get a flush look you'll need more aggressive (lower) offsets than stock.

Stock is 17x7 +42 IIRC (might be slightly wrong here)

Flush with fender is = 17x7 30-35 (depending on your camber settings)
Common 18x8.0 are +45 to +30.
Common 18x8.5 are +45 to +30.

You can fit 35-40 series tires on an 18" wheel at 225-245 and get a same or slightly larger than stock rolling circumference. Both are generally ok.
