Could it be? :bellyroll:

If they make it, it won't have a turbo anyway. Just an assortment of parts from their catalog.

Well yeah that's a given

I heard it'll be AWD, to allow for parts sharing with Subaru's Impreza chassis in an effort to cut costs and maximize profits.

So just a kouki version of the BRZ Ts that won't come to the US anyways?

Got it.

I look forward to all the new threads asking if people should buy a 17 BRZ or wait for the "AWD turbocharged 2018 BRZ STI"

It was being tested in Michigan...

We'll see what happens. All these automotive speculation threads have taught me to take everything with a grain of salt until there is an official statement from somebody high up at the coorporate level.

I think the brz platform doesn't allow Awd, there's no space for the front drive shafts. Unless they relocate the engine higher, and that means they will
need to modify the whole structure and say goodbye to low center of gravity.

Considering its being tested in Michigan and is LHD this one is for US consumption. However, it looks as if this is more cosmetic than what a revised tS in japan would be. It's definitely not a car developed in Japan and then bring brought over (hence why it doesnt have a tS badge on it and also why there hasn't been any shots of a revised car being tested on the nurburgring, which is what STi Japan typically does with its tS cars)

If they were going to turbo/AWD it they already would have. As you said it would need so many changes they would have had to design it with that in mind in the first place. For all intents and purposes it would just be a two door WRX by the time they were done with it.

Yep it will just be a regular BRZ with STI goodies.

My build thread has an exhaustive list of what STI offers for the BRZ. Itll just depend to what extent the US version would include those parts.
