Still not clear where the extra 1.8 lbs come from; I don't think TPMS + center caps + balancing weights + dust and dirt would account for that.
Perhaps just an imprecision of my kitchen scales when used on an uneven pavement of my garage (I did try multiple locations though)...

Here's a quick table of weight SX2s vs Primacy HP in different sizes:

Code:

Size      | SX2      | PHP      | Difference
215/45R17 | 23.0 lbs | 20.8 lbs | 2.2 lbs
245/40R17 | 26.2 lbs | 22.5 lbs | 3.7 lbs

So yeah, apparently SX2s are so heavy that inertia-wise they outweigh the benefit of lightweight wheels. Still much faster laptimes though.

Perhaps when I'm ready for RE71Rs I can get well below 40 lbs for the wheel+tire combo :P
---
I couldn't easily find the weight of the OEM PP wheels without tires, but it used to be known to be ~22 lbs.

Yeah they might be slightly lighter than that, but either way, saving weight on the wheels isn't much of a problem. As for saving weight on tires, you just have to pick out a list of top choice tires and then look them up by weight. Tire Rack has weight specs on all of their tires, but they don't necessarily have every tire out there. My wheel and tire combo came out to 39.6 lbs (obviously for a different setup as well, but the tires are big) - https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...=135328&page=7

Almost every tire manufacturer list the weights of all of their tires on their web page.

Indeed. I just find it easier to browse on a wide variety of tire brands and types with their specs listed all on one site.

Does anyone know if the TS-5s will ever be available in bronze?

The TS-5s are available in bronze, just not for any 5x100 sizes, unfortunately, with no plans either. I planned on just powdercoating mine eventually.

Titan 7 came up with a bunch of new fitments for 2022+ cars.

I got 17x9 +47 for my 2022 GR86, here's a side-by-side with a gen1 17x9 +37 wheel:
(left and dirty is +37, right and clean is +47)

Using "finger measurements", I couldn't easily find where the concavity/depth differs, so the absolute difference is pretty minimal.

I'll post more photos when I put both on the car.
+37 will go in the front, +47 in the rear.

Hi, I'm looking to buy Titan-7 17x9 wheels as well for my 2022 model.
How is your experience with these wheels?
Do they work with stock suspension? Do they need spacers?
What tire sizes are you running? 245/40r17? 255/40r17?
Thanks in advance!

Pricey, but they look amazing and are among the lightest wheels on the market.

The 17x9 size is in the realm of "you might want to have suspension mods".
For starters, the car will look like a monster truck with the stock fender gaps.

Then the question is what you do in the front.
17x9 +47 with reasonably sized tires will likely rub HARD against the chassis at full lock. I don't even know if the wheel or the tire on it is going to clear the strut. You definitely won't be able to use camber bolts to add camber.

If you add a 10mm spacer to get the effective +37 offset (or just get 17x9 +37 like I did) to minimize/avoid those issues, you'll need at least -2º of camber to tuck under the fender. A friend of mine who tried my 17x9 +37 with PP struts on his gen1 car wasn't happy with the gap between the tire and the strut. I believe gen2 struts have an even larger spring perch.

If you want to keep the stock suspension, look into narrower options.
17x8 +45ish might be a better choice for now.

245/40R17. Even in that size the tire models I run (SX2, RT660) are challenging to squeeze under rear fenders.

Kept the 17x9 +37 (gen1 fitment) in the front as I already had a set.

-3.somethingº camber in the front, -2.5º in the rear with RLCA, ~1" drop all around.
Went for a mountain drive and didn't hear much/any rubbing, will inspect the fenders next time the car is on a lift.

I'm having trouble deciding between the TS-5 and R10 in 18s.

Or one of a couple of pairs of Advans, or a set of Wedsports.
