FRS Tail of the Dragon run and some pics
 

My wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at ZdayZ last week. Ten years ago, she moved the wedding date so that our honeymoon would include ZdayZ, (I drove a 350Z at the time) and this year we returned to ZdayZ even though we both drive FRS's.

She has an AT FRS that she drives to work, but we both autocross the MT in CS and we both thoroughly enjoyed driving it on the Dragon.


Here's one of my runs from the state line to the lookout that had almost no traffic:

Ahh, the Tail of the Dragon! We did it with our Chrysler Crossfire. Can't wait to do it again with our FRS!

My 350Z was set up well and I still miss it, but the Twins are just made for these kinds of roads.

My son and I did it last July.
We ended up meeting a group of guys from our home area in Ontario, and now we all get together for track days and such.
We plan to go back as often as we can now.

I only use third in three sections.

I use third whenever I top out second.

We have been going to ZdayZ since 2005 in my Z. That road was kind of a reference point for the mods I did over the years. In STU trim, my 350Z made the State line to lookout run in 10:13. The FRS (in CS trim) made the same run in 10:18 with that Focus RS briefly in the way. (FRS benefited from stickier "street tires" than I ran two years ago on the Z)

My only mod worth mentioning at the time was a brand new set of RE-71R in stock size.

I was there last year. your pics look kinda familiar.

I wish I could experience Tail of the Dragon... but NC is too far to drive haha

13 hours for us, and some of the most memorable parts were had getting there.

I haven't been to the Dragon in several years. I'm going when my 86 comes in.

Thanks for the ride along. This is the first year that I have skipped going to the Dragon in April for our annual Snakes and Dragon and Spyders since 2012. I am jealous that you got that much open road. I usually catch someone after a couple miles at best.

Love the fact that I'm only 3 hours away from the Dragon. Makes a great day trip if you got the energy!
