To everyone asking why i sold the FR-S, i found a buyer who was interested in the mods that i've done and paid a good price for it. Shortly after I began car shopping for luxury sedans, and CUV, but after a week or two i just didn't feel like buying them because I didn't really enjoy driving them.

I stumpled across a blue series oem brz, and wanted to take this chance to learn manual as well. However, after mentioning this to friends i got a boat load of critism. More so from friends, than family. This thread is not to critique the car, but more so the cristism that you constantly hear from the people around you. I know what i want which is this car, but when i hear these criticism its annoying. It's easy to say live your own life, and fuck everyone else. I guess it doesnt help to be the only somewhat car guy among all my friends. I grew up with all these guys and family, i guess their path in life right now isn't a coupe sports car.

Thanks everyone who replied with their perspective you guys made me feel like i'm not the only one in a situation where i am the only one supporting to buy this car.

Question: When you were running the modded Twin did the same nay sayers criticise or complemented it?

I bet he got a lot of shit too, but he looked happy as a clam driving down the road with the top down and his jaunty little hat for decades from his white collar job to his wife and two kids. I guess some people weren't taught many manners, some parents probably told their kids 'ew look at that honey let me explain why that's wrong' my parents said 'that man is very happy and proud of his little car, and that's a good thing'

It's your money (Hopefully).

As an aside, how did you survive the previous 4 winters with an FR-S? That seems like the dumbest comment of all of them...

The last three winters barely snowed, but the last one that we just had was the worst in decades. Therefore, this winter talk is all the rage because of this anomaly amount of snow we just had recently.

When i first got my FR-S, most criticism was from family only. Everyone else supported the two door sports coupe. I was younger, and fresh out of University. No debate on if i should buy this car.

Oh, grrr... I looked more closely. Frame. :bonk:

Great to see spoked wheels.

Who cares what people think, other than those with experience with the car? Everyone has an opinion. I wanted something performance oriented after deciding to avoid being the victim of texting or general stupidity while riding my motorcycle. The average driver wont understand that. They do seem to understand "rounded to the ground" though. Whatever the fuck that means.

I guess the only question relevant is:

do you live your life?
or do you live your life for the sake of others?

If I caved in to the majority of opinions in my own life, I would've never left Asia as a kid.

Selling on a whim can prove just as costly as buying on one
