Carbon Fiber Hoods

Looking into snagging the CF hood I've wanted as my next big mod. A few questions have come up though and a few of them hasn't been easy to find answers for...

How necessary are hood pins with CF Hoods?
- Does the answer change if the hood is on struts?
- Is there a speed threshold at which pins become more of a necessity?

Would love insight from anyone with a more technical knowledge on the subject.

Thanks in advance!!

we require hood pins on all carbon fiber hoods and most aftermarket hoods recommend not to use the oem hood struts

i have always said if its just a street/daily driving car you will be fine without pins but if you race or do high speed runs definately use hood pins but our company stand on them if they are required

I just drive on the street and i'm just fine.

That being said sometimes on a windy day in minnesota or i'm speeding on the highway i do see it start to wobble and flex quite a bit. it's definitely a scary sight. i would recommend pins
