BRZ TV Commercial
 

So I have seen two different FRS commercials on TV, but none yet for the BRZ. (yes, I've seen all the ones posted online.). Then it occurred to me - Subaru doesn't need to advertise yet! These things are selling like hot cakes.

Still would be nice to a BRZ commercial on TV.

Seems almost like Subaru has not started really pushing the car yet, maybe because of the low allocation they have currently. Us enthusiasts will wait for a car but the average buyer that saw the commercial and goes in to buy one would just walk away if they were told they will have to wait for damn near a year (or longer), It would probably cause them more trouble to run commercials right now, I bet once the initial surge from enthusiasts stops and they can actually stock the cars on a lot they will begin an advertising campaign

SoA doesn't have any commercials, but I thought Subaru of Canada had one or was that internet ad too.... You know, the "Scorched BRZ" one.

Yeah, Subaru has a few that are really good - they just don't seem to be on TV here (yet). But good point made - if they did advertise, they'd just get people who never heard of the car stopping by dealers expecting to test drive/buy one that same day.

Subaru probably won't put out a BRZ TV ad here. When was the last time you saw an ad for a WRX? The people who are going to buy these smaller production cars already know about them, you don't need to advertise in mass media.

Well that isn't exactly right. When the WRX first came over, it had awesome commercials.

The WRX was a pretty hot car back then too. Dealers were doing the mark up thing. I had to drive past around 20 subaru dealerships to find one for MSRP.

Canada would benefit more from a commercial like the "Scorched BRZ" one because it snows more up there where demand for a RWD sports car might be weak. Much like our New England states where BRZs are just sitting on dealer lots.

^^^I remember that WRX commercial. It was the reason I didn't buy one in 2002! When they morphed it into the rectangular headlight rally car, THAT was the body style I wanted. Took me until March 2003 for the bugeye to grow on me and I bought one (still have it) - then the redesigned '04 model came out a month later!
