Seeking a new door shell
Passenger Side
Color: blue Ultramarine
Year: 2015
Auto guy: I will never be able to restore this to its original form... cheaper to get a new shell

Fixed... costed CAD$3400. Good things OEM FRS parts are readily available

If it hasn't been creased, have you checked to see if a PDR person can pull/push it out ...... ??

Hey Zhan you looking for a door or just the skin? If a skin it doesn't matter what colour it is since the paint is going to get destroyed installing it anyway. If a door try calling an auto wreckers. Like said I would check with a PDR guy before going to far with a replacement. They can work miracles if the paint isn't too bad.

Apparently FRS door is an entire assembly, you cannot just replace the skin.

they cant men... takes too much effort and skill to restore it perfectly

All doors are one assembly with the skin welded on. There are none where the skin just attaches to the outside.

Have you consulted with any PDR persons .... ??

If so, and they can't help you, I reckon you have several other options:

* live with it (the do nothing approach)

* have a body shop repair it

* pick up a door at a wrecking yard and most likely have it painted

* purchase a new door from a dealer

* DIY - take the door off, take off the interior panels, lay it down on a sand pile and bang on it with a rubber mallet.

Get an entire door, not just the shell. The odds of getting the inside bits transferred and being as dependable and rattle free as the factory, are slim.
