2017 BRZ interior rattle
Hi all,
I have a 2017 sport tech, and have noticed a rattle from the passenger side speaker/dash area @ 4000-5000RPM . Took it to the dealer and they installed some foam in areas they thought it was coming from. This didn't help and the rattle continued. Couple weeks later I brought it back to the dealer, and this time they said they had to start a case w/ Subaru Canada to figure it out. They told me they test drove one of their new BRZs on the lot and it exhibited the exact same rattle, coming from same area passenger side speaker/dash. They also told me this might just be the design of the vehicle and nothing can be done about it. They did however take video of it and will send it to their report to Subaru Canada. Anyone else noticing a similar rattle in their 2017s? Any advice on what I should do? |

It's not only love that makes a Subaru a Subaru. It's also the rattles.
A common rattle I have found is actually the window buttons. Try reproducing the issue, grab a couple of sheets of paper, shove them between the button and the door card and see if that solves it. Make sure the paper is large enough to remove easily, just for testing purposes. |
This happens in my 2016 BRZ-- Similar to you, I hear it on the passenger dash area. I've learned to get used to it, unfortunately. My buddy has the same issue with his 2015 WRX. Maybe it's a Subaru thing..

I have one and heard it from day one. I know where it is. It's the stupid plastic dash rattling against the plastic of the infotainment system. If I push on it, it stops. I might try realigning it or putting some tiny foam in there.

Am I the only rattle free brz?

Back-in-the-day, with cars where you could get to stuff, we used these store bought, ribbed, rubber wedges to stop squeaks and rattles. Good hunting! humfrz |
These cars all have rattles. Just when you find and fix one , another will appear.
Don't waste you time taking your car to the dealer unless you have time to waste and nothing else to do. Try to trouble shoot the cause yourself. The dealer will not be able to fix the rattle and if they start tearing your dash apart they are likely going to make things worse. |
Part of the experience.
