Engine timing?

I just rebuilt my motor, and I'm having trouble timing the engine. I've retimed it twice now and the same faults come back P0021, P0018 and P0019 crankshaft correlation faults to camshaft sensor a and b on bank 2. The car misfires and runs terribly. I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong when I time that side...

Any tips or suggestions would be great. :iono:

Hello MJferg ....... I'm impressed that you are rebuilding your own engine....

Not many people know how to do that any more.

I'm sorry, I can't be of any help ....... I got left behind when they took away the bolt to the distributor and the timing mark ...... which made my timing light and 9/16" wrench useless.

However, I would suggest that you consult with a shop manual and/or consult with someone who knows what they are doing ...... before starting the engine again ....... so it doesn't beat itself to death.

Good luck.

The end of this thread might be of some help.

Had no idea there was a tech tip for this. I'll be going back and re timing my engine again to see if this changes anything. Thanks for the heads up!
