Car alarm comes on when reconnecting battery
Other day my car had no power. Wasn't sure what was wrong so I checked all my fuses to make sure they were still good. Eventually I just changed the battery and that worked, but now the alarm comes on every time I connect it and I cant start the car. The keyfob doesn't do anything and I even tried changing the battery in that too. I am certain I put the fuses back properly (cross-referenced multiple times with cover's diagram) but its not working.
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this type of problem? Also, if anyone has a 2014 model could you please post an img of both your fuse boxes (engine and interior)? I was looking up fuse boxes but it seems like not all model years look the same. |
I suggest you pull the fuse for the car alarm.
Hook up the battery and start the car. Replace the pulled fuse. Of course, I'm one who used to just unplug then plug in my computer when it acted up....:bonk: There should be a picture of the fuse boxes in your owners manual. humfrz |

For anybody else reading this thread.
'No power' trouble shooting order of operations: 1) Check battery power level 2) If battery full - Check cable connections and posts 3) If cables good - Check fuses 4) If fuses good - Call towtruck Do not deviate from this order for any reason. |
