HIRING - TMP Track Marshalls
 

Hey there everyone!

As you know, I'm an instructor at Pinnacle Advanced Driving Academy and our head instructor, Colin Caissie, is now also the Road Track manager at Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP / Cayuga).

As some of you also know, the lapping days at TMP can be... let's be honest, shit shows with more money than brains or skills coming out which works against TMP from trying to bring more people out to have fun.

As a result, with the hiring of Colin, he is trying to hire marshals for TMP's open lapping days.

Marshals will be paid and will get free lapping on the day of.

Is experience necessary?

It'll help you but what Colin's looking more for is someone who can commit and he can train. It's not that difficult but you need to pay attention and not be distracted easily.

If you've even attended track events as a spectator, bring it up.

I've only been to auto X's as a spectator, but always wanted to get involved at a track but Thanks! I just sent him a quick msg.

I can't commit, but I am excited that someone is trying to bring some order to the open lapping days!

I'll be marshaling on the following dates:

- May 19th Friday evening session
- Aug 7th Monday day session
- Sep 4th Monday day session
- Oct 9th Monday day session

I can assure you I have a zero tolerance for BS regardless of whether you're driving a Tercel or a MacClaren. You're an idiot? You get black flagged.'

Then I bombard you with sales pitches for a driving school lol...

I've been very leery about attending one of these lapping days, even though I'm dying too. I've heard some not so good stories and I wish you all the best cleaning it up. I'll be coming out to watch prior to lapping.

I hear you. I only started going to TMP last year because I wasn't allowed to be on DDT. I showed up for one evening lapping session and went "WTF?".

I came back during a Monday off and it was MUCH better then.

Evenings and weekends are total shit shows at times but that's what Colin is trying to fix!

I mean some of stuff I hear is hilarious.

Had a yellow BRZ (wonder if he is on this forum), trying to aggressively block a GTR through the kink and towards the last turn before the straight and I black flagged both of them. When asked why he was running an active block: "He's so aggressive! I had to stay on top of him! He's pushing so hard!".

When asked, the GTR responded: "He's blocking me! He won't let me pass!"

To both: "This isn't a race and you were NOT in a passing zone!!!"

Just saw this! great initiative, TMP needs help in this regard. Shame I am on the wrong side of the GTA to lend a hand.

We could carpool some time if the scheduling works!
