Springs for 2017 PP

I like the ride comfort of my 2017 PP but think the car can go a little lower. Since PP has a different strut, I was wondering if PP has a different spring setting.

Just from this website I found PP and 2017 non PP MT have same front and rear springs. The interesting thing is 2017 non PP AT has a different front spring(softer???) but same rear spring as 2017 MT. Have never seen anyone saying AT drives different than MT:bonk:

Any suggestions for lowering Springs?:thanks:

Any lowering springs from the pre 17s will work. No matter what you do you are going to change the spring rates by going lower anyway. Pretty much just a matter of picking your personal preference.

I just put RCE Tarmacs on my PP. RCE hasn't don't any testing on the PP Sachs to see if that's a good idea. The yellows still may be the better choice. Overall, ride quality is just a smidge more aggressive than the stock springs. Nothing I wouldn't daily.

Knowing that '17s went to softer rear springs and a bigger rear bar, I assumed putting lowering springs for 13-16 models would increase oversteer. My math there was "'17 has a bigger difference front to rear, so if spring rates on 13-16 aftermarket springs got heavier in equal proportions, putting them on a 17 will make the rear springs heavier in proportion to the fronts. Tie that in with the bigger rear bar, and it'll be loose."

Then I autocrossed the car yesterday and it wasn't loose at all. Granted I was on the stock tires because the tires I ordered won't be in for a week, but the car was quite pushy on corner entry and mid corner, and just a touch of oversteer on throttle coming out of corners. I haven't had the car aligned since lowering it either, but I assume it toed out a bit in front, so who knows...

Read into that what you will.

Did you run with traction off (hold traction button for 5secs) or on track mode? (that's what is called now right?)

There is a big difference in tail happiness between the two. Track mode will still save you if you bork a corner.

Couple things:

1. Traction control? You mean bitch switch? Of course I ran with it off.

(Kidding, but yeah, full off)

2. It's apparently still possible to tank-slap-loop it in track mode. A new girl with a Series Yellow came out yesterday with her boyfriend. She had it in track mode on her final run. In a sweeping right hander from a dig, she started to slide, completely lifted, and the car snapped around to the left into a full spin. My guess is her initial slide was within the parameters of track mode but still sideways enough to be able to lift-overcorrect-tank slap spin where the TC couldn't catch the car after the snap.

Definitely get that alignment...that can have a big impact on balance!

For our springs, we never just do a simple % increase over stock front and rear. Lots of factors going on and for RCE Yellows we ended up with even spring rates front and rear. Very slightly rear biased for RCE Tarmac springs.

We have not had the PP shocks on our dyno, but we have installed and tested with RCE Yellows and they work well together. Have not tested with RCE Tarmac springs so thank you for the feedback. :)

Oh the alignment is coming :) Waiting for camber bolts to get here.
