In order to get the tunes you have to email them asking for it. They will send you one and even the XML definitions if you want.

Just got mine in but it does not have 2017 tunes on it, and still not on their website. I emailed at both shiv and sales hopefully get a reply soon. They should just post it on the site by now jeez

i think they focus on miata now

SuperTom 08-02-2017 10:25 PM

well its been a few days now. Again I emailed both Shiv and Sales a few days ago and no reply. Also when I ordered I put in a paypal note to add the tunes for my17'. If it wasn't a forum member giving me a beta my17 tune Id be really fkin pssed right now. I would have my dck in one hand and a useless handheld toy in my other hand.

Didn't say what was in it had cold start turned off and my CEL went away. With full catless exhaust it was louder in the low rpm takeoff range which was annoying taking off from a redlight, now it sounds much cleaner. I'm running 93 and its seems good but I don't know how much more power I got over the full exhaust.

Darkrune 08-02-2017 11:35 PM

Ah k. I am not sure that is a tune for power.

I'm not sure the beta tune I'm running is for power either, the CEL is off and the butt dyno says my car is faster but I still feel the torque dip

I emailed the sales at lunch time and 30 minutes later I got a response from Shiv:

"Hi Jeremy,
If you place an order specifying that you have a 2017, I can preload our latest tune files for the 2017 on the OFT :) Just make a note of it in the comments section of the order form!

Best Regards,
Shiv Pathak"

So I went ahead and ordered it for my 2017 MT, we'll see when it comes in!

SuperTom 08-03-2017 02:51 PM

Just emailed him at shiv@openflashperformance.com

:
So where are the 2017 files Shiv? You just told someone on the forums you are going to ship theirs with it. I put a note in the comment box when I purchased mine and got NOTHING!@ Why aren't they on the download page of your website so people don't have to keep bugging you?

And he just responded to my thanks also, so maybe you sent it to the wrong email? Not a clue, I'd try to send him an email now.

I got the same one. I also need the 93. Here's the thing though. These tunes aren't out for full public consumption yet. It is unrealistic to expect something from the tunes that are unofficial. They have some tweaking to do on the 17 tunes. I can't post what because it's a closed beta.

Yes he said the final tunes will be out next week.
But didn't specify if there will be 93 tunes I sure hope so or a lot of power will be left on the table. I loaded the 91 stage 2+ tune he sent last night and it drives nice.

allowe 08-04-2017 11:38 AM

Does anyone know if there will be an ofh tune?

give it a few days it'll prob get better still, I find tune and stock that a few days of easy driving after a flash usually evens everything out nicely

Who cares about 91 and 93 tunes, I need that e85 tune! I need MORE powa! Good thing I'm surrounded by gas station that provide e85! Been running it for over a year and no problems.

Look at Knock correction Max A table its added to base B to get overall timing then also look at Temp compensation tables

I was given tunes as part of my purchase of the OFT, I'm not under any sort of beta like I've heard from others.

It's all the same, that stinks, I paid $499 because I was told there were tunes for 93 octane, when in fact there are tunes for 91 octane and a tune that is named 93 octane, this is beyond shady.

The oldr 91\93 tunes were very similar just a small amout of timing pulled from the uppercrpm area in the 91 tunes.

Looks like they have just gone to a single fuel tune, i suspect tgey wouls be all 93 tunes, ie require 93 for minimal knock and best performance ie IAM at 1 max timing.

When running those tunes on 91 id ecpect the ecu would manage knock by dropping iam to below 1 reducing timing and hence slightly lower power\performance on 91

What does tge release botes say in the download file ?

Oh jist noticed they ard 2017 roms, the tune logic is way differnt in the 2017, its possible undefined tables were changed im not sure have not looked at the v3 tunes are they released to public yet ?

I mean, if you buy a new OFT and put 2017 in the notes, you get the new tunes, so I would say that's pretty public, if anyone needs them just PM your email.

timmydatooth 08-08-2017 11:58 AM

So did OTS V3.0 get released to the public already? if it was what were the main differences compared to the older tunes?

smg1138 08-08-2017 12:41 PM

Yeah, what he said. ^

Somerandom18 08-08-2017 12:55 PM

Apparently they're out this week according to the grape vine?

Havn't seen them on the site yet, but just got my OFT in today, and after driving around for a while and doing some pulls, I'm really not feeling a difference with the Stage 1 tune, there was only one Stage 1 tune on the device, so I'm assuming that was 91 Octane, and with running 93 I never once saw any knock correction.

I feel like the tunes are probably not flushed out yet, because I've driven in some older frs's at autocross with just the stage 1 93 tune, and those felt way better in the mid torque than mine sadly.

I'll hope that the updates this week address it

Stage 1 you're not going to notice a difference in performance on a stock car on 91 or 93.

Ehh on the older cars I could definitely feel the dip be filled in. It didn't feel like a rocket ship obviously, but I wasn't pissed off at the dip anymore.

My 2017 still has the vtec feeling like im going from no torque to tons.

invaliduser 08-09-2017 07:40 PM

Tunes for the 2017 cars do not have nearly the same performance gains as the 13-16.

As I've sadly found out...

But the biggest reason I bought it was to bump up the rev limit and to make it a softer limit for autocross (since the second gear is so short), and it did in fact do that. Once they figure out launch control for the 2017 then I'll be content.

churchx 08-09-2017 08:06 PM

Or it can be worded other way. 2017 may have share of max gains already as stock.

Could be true, but I know that for 2017 the stock headers were changed quite a bit to increase flow, yet the stock car only gained 5hp over the previous generations. I would think that the stock 2017 header should allow me to get some nice gains with the right tune. I bashed on the car for quite a while, and I couldn't get it to knock even once according to the OFT.

If anyone has any suggestions/guides on tuning timing, AFR, etc to get the best gains possible from a road tune let me know and I'll do it and post the results (and the tune if anyone would want it).

But the fact that the car didn't have to once correct timing for knock tells me I have power to be had.

G-awesome 08-09-2017 08:53 PM

hold up! so the v3 are leaked or released? I'm getting antsy! lol ME WANTS.

So after being able to smell a bit of gas after doing some pulls I logged a little launch to redline 1st, redline 2nd, and 3rd to 7k rpm and it's at 11.02 AFR from about 6-7k and it seems really rich in quite a few places. And once again no knock correction. So to me it looks like the stage 1 tune at least is super conservative and probably for 91 octane.

Anyone have any input on the AFRs?

You need to log afr commanded as well, with that you can determine if you need to scale your MAF or not.
