hey guys, sorry if this is a stupid question, but when these tune files get updated, they are just updated and released onto the openflash main site right? so if this releases we can download and re flash?

It looks to me that is just an update to support the revised '17+ models. The Stg 1 91 map, should provide a more aggressive throttle map which feels faster and gives zero actual gains.

While its possible to alter the throttle maps to do that, the oft guys dont alter the throttle mapping in any of their tunes including the 2017+ tunes

nikitopo 06-12-2017 06:18 AM

Thanks. I'll check later what tables are changed.

I compared file "Stg1 A01G.bin" with a standard A01G file and the table "Requested Torque A (Accelerator Pedal)" is changed.

MurderousPandas 06-12-2017 02:38 PM

What exactly is being updated, all maps? I have a '13 FRS with stock intake system and 2.5" catless headers to frontpipe on E85. Car got hit, but i get it back on the 20th.

hmm yes bit of change their forgot about that one

, you will also the odd minor changes due to oft using usa roms as base roms and copying tune changes to other countries rom

they did not change throttle in 2017 roms though

Ive got some throttle tables that change the throttle mapping quite a lot as i did not like the soft mapping in the lower end of throttle, but had to make a lot more substiantial changes than oft guys did to three throttle tables to achieve this. make throttle very linear. I did not want to use external controller.
@Tor is trying them as well, they make much more substantial difference than the small tweak oft guys did

For the v3 tunes, will the launch control RPM be set lower? Right now all I get is wheel spin.

Also will idle RPM be turned up a bit?

You can always change those whenever you want with romraider..

Again, what definitions are you guys using to modify the tunes? I don't want to risk bricking the ECU in the middle of the season

I have not modified my tune in rom raider as when I loaded it with any of my definitions it did not seem to be defined correctly. My assumption is that Shiv changed the definitions and will be posting them for download on the openflash site when the v3.0 is officially available and not in beta.

I would email him though.

I agree with Detroiter, No definition that I had would seem to be correct.

Email shiv with your rom ID and he will just send it to you. It's what I had to do for K00C.

Any thoughts are welcomed

Shiv asked for this to be a closed beta, so i doubt there will be any reviews until it is fully released. Sorry guys

SuperTom 06-21-2017 02:47 PM

Let me say I'd rather this come out complete than a false complete like is done with video games that have constant updates to get right.

But please god let this come out before header and ots money gets spent on hookers and cocaine

imagine a hooker on cocaine and oft then!!

churchx 06-21-2017 11:04 PM

You don't want to custom tune hooker for backfires in her exhaust, do you?

jvincent 06-22-2017 10:40 AM

Sorry guys, but it's a condition of the beta test group that we don't post details/impressions of the tune on the forums.

EDIT: Just saw that @yelsew said the same thing.

So how long of a process is this? Can we expect it anytime soon or is this like a year long endeavor?

This, I've been sitting on a cel delete only stock tune for like 5 months on my 2017. Not trying to sound impatient, just excited to get the most out of the car and the exhaust mods I've done.

going to be installing my UEL headers today with a CEL bypass for now on my 17. I wish they will give a timetable I really don't want to have to look for other options

The last beta lasted ~4 months if I remember correctly. Have patience guys. If you need something specific, someone here can probably give you some help.

On the OFT website it says this:

Now supports all 2017 models! Gain up to 20HP and improve drivability for your FR-S / BRZ / GT86 in just 5 minutes! This is a fully functional, handheld ECU programming tool that offers open source map editing, on-board data logging and on-screen data viewing and graphing. Say goodbye to locked tunes that you can’t view or edit. Now you can have all the tuning flexibility you need in one convenient package that you can store in your glovebox! Includes OpenFlash Tablet, OBD cable and USB cable. For competition use only.

Somerandom18 07-25-2017 10:40 AM

The OFT, if purchased directly from OpenFlash, now comes with 2017 tunes but they aren't available to download off their site. They may also be different from the tunes being spoken of in this thread.

In order to get the tunes you have to email them asking for it. They will send you one and even the XML definitions if you want.
