Bullet Proof engine

Hey guys I'd like to build an NA FA20 that can take some serious punishment. Engine I have is on its last legs after 26000 miles of hard track life.
Other than an oil cooler I figured I would get a used engine, get some strong rods, pistons, better valve springs, and some really nice engine bearings and call it a day. I just want an engine that will last long that I dont have to worry about for time trial. Any recommendations on these parts? I only plan to do a tune on it with a nice header I already have.

Thanks

Are there rules you need to adhere to?

So I was hoping that I could still compete in NASA TT-D. I'm basically at the limit for my points. I do know though that this is the last year for TT-D but I would like to do a build that I can still pass as "stock" if possible is that makes sense. Just bullet proof

My question is how the fuck you managed to kill this engine with only 20k miles?

It's impossible to kill this engine.. unless it's modified incorrectly.

lol running 0w20 oil with no oil cooler and oil temps going above 300 degrees before I got an oil cooler. Also I'd say that close to 75% of the miles are on track. Hey if you guys dont think its worth it for me to even crack open the engine on the next round I wont. Just seeing if I can make it last a long time or if its even worth it.

Also I have a friend that has been through two of these engines after around 50k miles (most on the track as well). Granted his first engine had a turbo but he still managed to throw a rod on his second engine that was NA. We push these things very hard on the track

Maybe neglected is the word. Im also curious about making a built engine

I mean... you should run 0w-30... I run 0w-30 for my 2017 and it's just my DD. you can't kill these engines easily mate.

Running 5w30 synthetic now. Sure its tough to kill on the street... different story on the track though with cornering forces, oil starvation, and the revs staying above 5k for hours on end. Then again I could be wrong be wrong about even thinking about doing this build and maybe I should just keep putting low mileage stock engines in and call it a day. Just seeing what the recommendations are

I don't think these motors are as bulletproof as people are suggesting here. @CSG and @Element Tuning seem to be the people with the first hand knowledge around here. Maybe give each of them a call and see what they suggest?

I would look at oiling mods and keep throwing stock motors at it. If you go building a motor you're going to want to protect it with a quality oiling system anyway so might as well get that part squared away. Sounds like you have the oil cooler already, so I would look at the Element Tuning oil accumulator kit and/or the FBM baffled oil pan w/ increased capacity. I don't have any experience with either of those parts but that is what I'd focus on since you'd want top shelf oiling anyway to protect your investment in a built motor. Element also performs some proprietary oiling mods on their engine builds so you may want to talk with them about your setup either way.

Way cheaper to track it till it blows and then buy a used fa20.

They are pretty fucking bulletproof my friend.

sounds like investing in a dry sump might be a good idea too

So have you fired several ammunition rounds into your engine block yet?
