Fuel Pump and clutch issues on 2017 fixed?

Hey guys, possibly looking in to getting a '17 BRZ. Been reading up on possible issues and these 2 seem to be the most widespread. Has anyone with a '17 encountered either of these things?

FWIW, I have no issues with my 2015 BRZ. There are some crickets but I can't hear it over my exhaust tone (MXP exhaust with UEL headers). I also have no issues with my clutch on an OFT NA tune (stage 2).

Most report the fuel pump resolved but it was just a noise not really an issue. The clutch item was not as wide spread as it my seem here but way too early to tell if the 17s will have it anyway.

I do have the fuel pump chirp, but it is fully operational. Only comes alive during the warmer months and stopped at a light or drive through. I haven't had any issues with the clutch, but have seen a few with bad throwout bearings with other members. I haven't had any other issues with this car in 2 years of ownership.

If you're in the vin range might as well get it done. My dealer is top notch and offered a free rental but I don't think that's policy at every dealership.

The cricket noise is on and off, mostly off after I use E85.

I had issues with both the noisy fuel pump and the throwout bearing. I was able to get the fuel pump replaced under powertrain warranty, but they wouldn't fix the TOB. Looks like the TSB for that one didn't come out until mine had already failed. If you're going to buy a 2017, I'd recommend making sure the car you buy has the latest part numbers for those particular parts.

I actually brought it in today. When I pulled in, it was so loud the lot attendant gave me a funny look. I looked at her and said, "do you hear that? " I got a nod and a "yes" to ensure even their own people acknowledged it.

This spring the chirp has gotten loud and is apparent when I am traveling less than 15mph with no throttle input. The parts were ordered so I have my fingers crossed. If it doesn't work I'll resort to hosing down my engine bay with pesticides :bonk:

All the 17s will have the upgraded parts.
