Where did you find the blinkers? Looks like they're meant to be there... how hard was the install?

I actually got these off eBay the selection of LED bulbs on ebay is outrageous. The install was super easy don't even think it took me two minutes.

just because you have HID bulbs doesn't mean you're running proper/legal HID system. the bulbs may be HID, but the projectors/headlamp housings were designed for halogen bulbs. as a result, the cut off lines are way off (usually way too high) and you end up blinding the people in front of you.

the best way to get a HID system is to buy the gt86 headlamps. it will be expensive, but at least you're not blinding others.

just to give you an example, here's a comparison between running HID bulbs in halogen reflectors vs HID bulbs in proper HID projectors. pay attention to the cut off line. notice that there's no light above the cut off line in the projector HID system. you'll also notice that the proper HID system has a lower cut off line on the left side. this is to prevent the light from hitting oncoming cars. in asia, the lower cut off line is on the right side because they drive on the other side of the road.

I have to say, those tinted tail lights + the blacked out emblem and letters looks absolutely beautiful. Exactly what i want to do with mine on my Hot Lava FRS when i end up getting one. haha.

That tint is the perfect amount. Not too dark, not too light.

srt4_night_rider, how many coats/layers of paint did you use on your tail lights? can you detail exactly how you did it so that i will know how to get that level of opacity when i do mine?

Thanks man i appreciate it, if only you could see them in person they are so much lighter looking in person. you can see right through them still you just dont see the chrome look.

It is different every time, it all depends on how much black you add to the clear. The more black the less coats, the less black the more coats. I always say less is better because you can just add more coats. I think i sprayed mine about ten times....:confused0068: I barely put any black in my clear cause i wanted to make sure i didnt go to dark. I think im about to do another set here soon or maybe even redo mine red so i will take a bunch of pictures and right a detailed how to.

are those actually HID bulbs or just halogen bulbs with a purple tint? as far as i know, true HID systems require a different wiring harness, a HID ballast, etc. many halogen bulbs are printed with a HID sticker for marketing.

I can barely take this comment serious... ha ha! Yes they have a ballast and a true HID bulb and a wiring harness so you can plug it into your factor harness. Although i was very tempted to buy just a blue tinted bulb i held back and spent a little extra to get the real thing. ha ha ha:lol:

then i can assume that you're aware that 'purple' lights have poorer visibility than standard halogen lights, but that's besides the point. :)

your test shot seems like it was shot at about 5 feet away from the wall. a better test would be from about 20 feet.

my posts weren't to insult you; i just wanted to let everyone know that, in general, HID bulbs in a halogen reflector will disperse light everywhere.
