BRZ Limited: which panels are real leather?
Anyone have a diagram or can explain which parts are real leather and which are synthetic? I am about to use leather conditioner and cleaner but i dont want to do it on wrong areas.

The parts around the seat and steering wheel are. Sides and backs i am doubting. The spots connected to the alcantara are real. I wish they were synthetic like my Mini cooper. Lasted mint condition even now 175,000 miles and 11 years later.

I wouldn't obsess over it... most of the stuff I've used that's meant for cleaning/conditioning real leather seems to work pretty nicely on fake leather, too.

I regularly treated all the upholstery in our 2005 Legacy Limited wagon with Meguiar's cream leather conditioner, on all the panels, for 11 years and the seats were still beautiful when we traded it. Now we have a 2016 Legacy Limited sedan pkg 23 and I intend to do the same. I'm trying not to overdo in the BRZ because I'm afraid the cream might stain the alcantara.
I guess you and I are from the same cloth! My friend's Altima is a pigsty -- he has a wife, a toddler and a baby, so I make no judgments, but I said next time you take the family out in your wife's car (a nice Passat, always clean for her real estate clients) leave me the key to the Altima and I'll detail it for you. He said why would you do that nasty job, and all I could answer was, "I like it!" Enjoy your new 'Z! The ceramic coat is a great idea. It looks fabulous and is strong enough to resist stone chips as well. I did it myself and it was pretty easy. |
