Auto locking doors

I'm not sure that my 2016 FRS series 2.0 automatic has auto locking doors. It has push button start.

My 2002 Avalon has doors that lock when moved to drive position.

Am I missing something???

Wondering why you need this feature...oh you're in bodymore.

Magyarman 05-02-2017 01:56 PM

I just wondered that such a modern car would have this feature, but all I saw in the manual was a picture with on and off of the door switches. I thought maybe It needed to be set kind of like the alarm system.

I live in the burbs south of B'more. If I have to go into the city I take the battle weary 2002 Avalon. I keep my trips to there to a minimum,it's not the place I grew up in anymore.

But it takes too much effort to move my hand to the button and press the button... outrageous!

The doors auto lock.

use fob to unlock. open passenger door. set keys on seat shut door. wait 30 seconds. car will lock.

congratulations. you are locked out.

Not mine, it still senses the key inside and will not lock.

Re-lock timer is supposed to stop once you open the door

You could look here to add this feature : http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123339

There's a OBD module that does this function.
Once you drive and reach 15km/mph your car doors will lock, then once you stop and power off your car it unlocks the doors.
