Clutch Fork Failures?
 

I keep searching (even google) on the failure rate of the clutch forks and what type of pressure plates were being used at the time.


I just got a new clutch/FW/pressure plate put in...but the shop didnt put in the Velox fork. (May have been partly my fault) I really dont want to take the damn thing in next week to have it put in (and another couple hundred bucks) If I can just forego doing it right now.

If you decide to sell, I'll buy it.

How much heavier is your clutch pedal? Same? A tiny bit more? Double?

I'm still convinced the stock fork is ok unless the TOB starts binding. THAT is much more likely.

If you already have the part just hold onto it until the factory unit fails. Then all you have to do is install the velox shift fork

Thats the plan, but I can also add it into my build thread as an FYI for others :)

While crouching just outside the car, can you still easily push the pedal to the floor with your right hand?

Well, im a lefty soooo not really haha.

Its like 30-40% more effort to push in than stock now.

I'm big but I'm a hard lefty too. Makes the test that much more valid. I'd say you're fine as long as you don't ever feel any binding or extra stiffness in the pedal.

If it ever starts binding even a little, get in there and clean off the TOB & snout.
