Glad the 86 is slow: Keep the Dodge Demon off our roads
Anon and I know nothing about this publication. Good thing the 86 is not a murder-machine, though. I feel much safer when the ass end is coming around after reading this.
Keep the Dodge Demon off our roads From its barely legal slick tires to its monstrous acceleration, the Challenger Demon introduced in New York this month is the result of a sequence of misguided corporate choices that places bragging rights ahead of public safety. |
respectfully disagree and have different views but I'm not good at peopling so i don't know how to not sound like a retarded tool bag lol.

There are hundreds of thousands of modified cars driving the streets right now that have a similar power to weight ratio. Many of them are slapped together by people that have no clue as what the changes have done to the car and are simply accidents waiting to happen. If a car that is properly designed and engineered to handle that power and is targeted at a group that knows how to actually handle it is banned then they need to ban all power mods for all cars. Let's lobby to ban all Ferraris, Mustangs, Corvettes, Lambos and anything else faster than a VW Beetle and keep everybody safe. Will a couple of asshats buy them and wreck dramatically? Sure they will, but there have been loads of dramatic wrecks with stock Twins so what is the difference? |
Cars are driven by people. It's the driver that needs to be held responsible for his actions; whatever the car's capability is.

As much as I think the car is stupid... I don't agree with banning the car.

such a moronic "article." It reads like a parody. I mean really there is going to be what? Only 3000 of them sold?

Ban low performance drivers not high performance cars....

Anyone stupid enough to buy a dodge should not be allowed to drive a demon.
|
Fuck that noise, I'd rather see 1/5 cars on the road being shiny new Dodge Demons than the typical 10 year old SUV still on the bald OE tires and factory fill of brake fluid tailgating me.
There are many many more dangerous cars on the road than a Dodge Demon. Quote:

I remember Walter Rohrl's comment after his first drive on the track with the 996 GT2
"You're not going to sell thse to the public are you?" |
Well personally I don't mind if they ban all Dodge cars from the road lol j/k. :D
Seriously though, it's all about the driver's ability, not the car's. Not to go off topic, but the the on-road "test" to get your driver's license (at least in Georiga) is a pathetic joke. It doesn't force the driver to demonstrate ANY ability to actually 'drive' a car on an actual road. I knew a friend's kid/teenager who practiced 'steering' (not driving) a car through an empty parking lot... When he went to get his driver's license ONE WEEK LATER, he passed the "driving" portion of the test with flying colors because that's basically what the driving test is: 'steering' the car very slowly through some stupid cones on a small parking lot. Today in Atlanta, there were 2 more fatal accidents involving teenagers (driving with passengers) in a collision with another car... And I couldn't help but wonder if they had a stricter standard to get your license, would these teenagers still be alive today? I know a stricter test won't prevent all accidents, but I think it'll help eliminate A LOT of needless wrecks. |
mandatory HPDE with autocross test

Trying to ban the car will only sell more.
