Throwout bearing? Noise when blipping the throttle with the clutch in...
There's a quick metal ping/clank when quickly stabbing the throttle with the clutch in...noticed it when rev matching while driving the other day. Throw out bearing? Car only makes the noise with the clutch petal in. When moving, in neutral or in gear, there is no noise when blipping the throttle. There is also a quick audible noise when the car is running, not moving, but the clutch pedal is moved in and out. Car is bone stock, and not beat on. 24000 miles 2014. Anyone?

Well, the TOB would be the usual suspect.

Need more info. If it's the TOB, you should be able to hear it when coming to a stop or while stationary. When you push in the clutch, it will make an odd sound, but when you release the pedal, it will go back to normal. Replaced mine 10k ago

Problem is, I'm out of my 3 year/36k mile warranty :/ By TWO MONTHS.

You still have the 5 year/ 60k mile drivetrain warranty.

....yea...I thought about that. But the TSB says it's only covered under the 3y/36k bumper to bumper...

I'm out of the main warranty period for mine by 3 months. Contacted them about it by 2 months and was told I was SOL for any sort of warranty because the release bearing is not covered under the extended warranty
