My Key is lost..... check this out.

I lost my key to my new 2017 BRZ limited pp DGM color.

Lost.

Cannot be found.

Unfortunately it was lost before I picked the car up. I never sat in it. I never have even seen it move. Someone somehow lost the fob thing out of like 70 cars on the lot.

I went to inspect the car. It was all ready sitting in middle of the storage lot. But... NOPE.

I guess I was going to wait until the weekend to pick it up anyway.

Was a pleasantly pathetic experience. I got to look at it though. Full of dust and white plastic.

God god man! You have been so much with this purchase (through no fault of your own) that you are soon going to go down in forum history. People will be singing the saga of El Jefe for decades. The story will be handed down through the generations.

Yeah just make sure you get all keys and that they work without issues.

Ugh. Depends who you deal with. Never had a problem with the service department though they can't get my car on a lift last time I was there. I traded in my white 13 there for a series.blue, Had a better deal at a different dealership and the guy wouldn't let me leave or come down to match the other dealers price for like an hour. Then after telling them not to drill holes in the bumper 15 times... The drilled holes.. Crooked in the front bumper. Took them a few weeks but they replaced it and now the bumper sags on the right since they didn't replace the clips. /rant

But service people are nice. They replaced my fuel pump I think at least once on my 13. Another dealer did it a second time.

Three keys? o_O Did that change with MY17? My MY15 only came with two.

Sounds like a pain but nothing surprising for dealerships or sales guys in general. I assume most sales guys dont even know what you mean by "dont drill holes in the bumper" unless the guy is a car enthusiast as well.

The push button start model only comes with 2 remote fobs and a physical key residing in each one. There is no 3rd valet key. This is exactly how they come from Toyota / Lexus for the longest time when they ditched turn key ignition for some of their models.

I actually prefer the traditional 3 key setup, but then the built-in remote key casing tends to crack overtime at where the metal meets the plastic.

Next time someone goes to buy a new car everyone will say, "Dont get 'EL Jefed.'" Maybe make some shirts too.
