Intake that KEEPS sound tube?

I have a 2017 BRZ Series.Yellow. I'm curious if there are any intakes on the market that keep the stock sound tube? I love the intake noise and when getting a new exhaust that is a little louder, I want to turn up the intake noise too. I'm planning on keeping the car n/a and going for an all motor build revving around 9200rpms eventually if that makes a difference for intakes.

Never seen one. With a louder exhaust and a higher volume intake the sound tube sort of become redundant anyway since you can hear the real noise the engine makes.

It's pointless.. upgrade the intake tube and the engine sound gets louder than with the generator.. I can only imagine an entire aftermarket intake.

Even a high flow drop in makes a huge difference in the stock intake sound. My car came with the TRD drop in already installed but the stock filter was in the trunk. The first time I cleaned the TRD I dropped the stock in just to see (well hear I guess) what it was like. Holy crap what a difference! It is so much deeper and throaty sounding with the drop in that it is hard to believe the rest of the intake is the same. Threw the stock one away and never looked back.
I plugged the sound tube before I ever left the dealer lot but did unplug it once. With the TRD drop in and exhaust the sound that came out of the tube was just a sad little buzz in comparison.

Jun makes one.

9200 rpm? Interesting goal. What are your plans for the rotating assembly and valve train?

Greddy/Tekada/AFE
Air Raid
Top Fuel

Just to name a few. That was a two minute Google search.

If you want the intake noise louder, keep the stock intake, put a drop in filter in it, and get the different sound tube inserts available from JDM land...

Personally I blocked that crap off, it just drones on the highway.

Any good intake will turn up the volume so the sound generator tube becomes obnoxious. NYPPD makes a silicone inlet tube that has the sound gen tube opening. http://nyppd.com/all-parts/nyppd-sil...ator-openings/

I have one and I used it when I had the silicone tube/drop in combo. The tube is nice, good quality.

He has a 17 MT with the different intake none of these will fit properly.

What? I have seen multiple threads about people dropping aftermarket intakes on their 17s that were "meant" for the older model. The drop ins don't fit, but I know that I have seen a TRD intake on one. Most of the websites updated their part fitment to show 2017 as well.

What was the change? I know the intake manifold is different, but I haven't read / seen where the dimensions were drastically different, and people have retrofitted it to the older years.

Who knows if it actually flows better than the revised 2017 MT OEM filter..

What was the change?

MTs are the same but the tube diameter is larger on the 17 MTs.
Even if you could make it work (which no doubt you could) there would be virtually nothing to gain from changing it since the flow is already greatly increased over the early system.

Oh and the ones linked all do away with the sound tube which is not what he was looking for in the first place.

The JUN one I linked definitely DOES NOT do away with the sound tube, lol. That's the big metal grommet at the front left.

They use the same throttle body as the older models correct? (part number wise as far as I can find at least) So....

I hadn't heard about upped tubing size, just different radius bends and a different airbox size. Do you have a link to that by any chance? Always trying to learn.

Don't have the changes brochure here. Ya, I see the sound tube now. Should not use my phone to look at pics!
Well there we go if somebody wanted to change they do have options with sound tubes and I stand corrected.
