HachiRolle's 2017 Toyota 86 - Raven M/T
It has been tradition of me to start a build thread for each car I've owned, so here it goes with my current build!
To give a little backstory, my previous car was a 2012 Honda Fit, Sprintex supercharged: https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7758/2...858909dd_z.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5819/3...3a39d43c_z.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1566/2...259ae368_z.jpg After 5 years of ownership and getting tired of the automatic, the timing lined up to part out the car and move on to something I always had my eye on. The plan was to get into a used FRS, but after test driving a 2017 86, I felt that the refinements made to the car were hard to pass up. After tracking the car down 80 miles away from me and settling on a good deal with the dealership, I took home Stella on January 20, 2017: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2915/3...d69b5848_z.jpg Mod List as of 4/18/17 Interior / Audio -LED Dome Light -LED Trunk Light -OEM Floor Mats -OEM Subaru Trunk Cover -Broadway 360mm Convex Rear View Mirror -Bride Vios 3 Driver Seat (Black Gradient) -Bride Type-FO Seat Rail -Cusco Drift Button Exterior -AVEST Side Markers (V1 - Smoked) -LED License Plate Lights -OEM Rear Bumper Protector -OEM Mudguards -FiveAxis Rear Spoiler -TRD Aero Fins (Paint Matched) Engine / Drivetrain -Clutch Spring Delete -Invidia Resonated Front Pipe -Invidia N1 Catback Exhaust (Ti-Tip) Suspension / Brakes -PoweredByMax Competition Coilovers -PoweredByMax Lower Control Arms -PoweredByMax Rear Toe Arms Wheels / Tires -Volk Racing TE37RT (18x10 +44 - Mag Blue) -Volk Racing Formula Lug Nuts (Red) -Federal 595 RS-RR Tires (255/35/18) -PoweredByMax Valve Stem Caps (Red) -PoweredByMax Wheel Spacers (5mm Front + Rear) |
I was originally going to buy the car in Halo, but I had purchased the TE's before I bought the car and decided that they would look better on Raven :iono:

I was going to go in a different direction with the exhaust, but I picked it up used for a price I couldn't pass up: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2885/3...84857b62_z.jpg I also picked up a FiveAxis rear spoiler at the same time and had it paint matched: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2914/3...13d2a72c_z.jpg Next stop was picking up the suspension components. Having many S chassis friends, I decided to go with PoweredByMax (PBM) competition coilovers, lower control arms, and toe arms to properly set the alignment. Based on price, quality, ride comfort, and rebuild options, seemed to be the best option for me: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2948/3...1abc497f_z.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2893/3...7a7cc6f8_z.jpg Before installing the suspension, I picked up a pair of authentic TRD aero fins. Color matched since I have mixed feelings about carbon on black: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2815/3...b3b18601_z.jpg Less than two months into ownership, I had the car sitting about where I wanted it to sit. Suspension was installed, fenders rolled, and Volk TE37RT's installed, wrapped in Federal 595 RS-RR tires (more details on alignment specs can be found in the Meaty Tire Thread): https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2877/3...a2491bfb_z.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/658/33...7dde7fc3_z.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3898/3...6abb93fb_z.jpg About a month later, in went the Bride Vios 3 in black gradient, accompanied by a Bride Type-FO seat rail: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2916/3...ec6be6f9_z.jpg Most recent mod was the Cusco drift button: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2891/3...e451faff_z.jpg Miscellaneous pictures of how the car currently sits: https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3927/3...46f9c48f_z.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2887/3...0a9cd5cb_z.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3956/3...a3dc1f5c_z.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2850/3...39b9b881_z.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2907/3...04c94971_z.jpg That's all for now. I'm looking to do a couple small things here and there once I get rid of the last parts remaining from my Fit. The 86 has been nothing but smiles since day 1 :burnrubber: |
