Thinkware F50
This one falls in your budget of $50.00.
I bought this one a few months ago but paid $85.00. Best one IMHO for the cost.
I have it connected to the 12 volt plug in the glove compartment.

G1W, get the capacitor model since it will fair better in the heat/sun.

the viofo a119 is twice your budget but its a great camera i have it in stalled in my frs, quality is great and on top of the usual loop recording theres many other capture features. It also has automatic crash detection and a gps to give you a speed overlay. For the money its definitely worth it and I'm thinking about getting one more facing the rear

I use this. Xiaoyi Yi Dash Cam. It has build in WIFI so that I can change all the settings in my phone. and download videos to my phone on the fly if it was needed. The video quality is not bad as well.

I have Yi's dash cam: https://www.amazon.com/YI-1080P60-Da...dp/B01C89GCHU/

It provides quality recordings, but it's a bit more visible from outside the car than other cams.

While not being $50 I would recommend the Mobius ActionCamera. I got the cam, install kit (ac plug and long cable), capacitor, and lens extender for $69 shipped from banggood. I literally only have the cable and a small lens visible for the camera. The quality is absolutely amazing and with multiple lens options you can chose what works best for the car. They also have a huge following with RC pilots that have seen the camera updated and upgraded often.

I have this one as well and I think it's excellent for the price. Some probably wouldn't like that it's visible from the outside of the car but I do- If I bumped into a parked car and noticed the dashcam I'd sure be more motivated to leave a note. (I would anyway, but you know people. :iono:)

That's what I have in the Yaris. I have the Thinkware F50 in the FRS. A couple gripes about the A119. If I have the key in the on position for a few minutes, and then turn on the car, it doesn't record after the engine starts. It'll just have the screen on.

Also, the formatting requirements get annoying. In hindsight, I would have just bought another F50.

hmm never noticed that about the key thing, one problem i did have with it was that my 64gb card apparently wasn't compatible so for a few weeks i was getting frustrated because it would record clips from 30 seconds to 3 minutes long and do so sporadically, sometimes right when i started the car, sometimes when it had been running for half an hour already. so far thought everything seems good and i quite like it

I still haven't looked at the video quality of it since I've had it. But I'm expecting it to be better than the F50 since the A119 can do 1440p. I have the GPS bit for it too. I noticed it started having issues, so I switched the power cable from the GPS unit to the cam itself, and the issues went away.
