Transmission shudder at low RPM's

So, the throwout bearing on my 2013 FRS recently died. Since I had to drop the transmission, I replaced the clutch with an Exedy OEM kit. Ever since doing the replacement, I've been getting a shudder from the transmission in low RPM's. It's usually the worst in 3rd gear around 2,000 RPM's. What's weird is that it's not when I engage the clutch, but when I'm already in gear. Anybody know what could be causing something like that after doing a clutch replacement?

Maybe its clutch chatter? But I'm sure someone else here with more knowledge will chime in and figure it out.

I replaced my clutch with a Stage 1 Exedy clutch and I'll get momentary clutch chatter but only in 1st gear starting off.

Bummer .......:(

Oh, I'd guess the clutch is shuddering, not the transmission ..... ;)

Did you do the work, or did you have it done...??

How did the flywheel look when you had it apart..??

Was the rear of the transmission bolted back down tight .. ??

Come back.

My 2016 has had this 'chatter' or 'shutter' since I drove it off the lot. I would imagine it's due to the clutch. @humfrz gave me his input on this awhile back. It appears to be the new norm with fresh clutch installs and new units coming off the assembly line. I've even heard a few 2017s with the chatter at low RPMs. If I were you, I would go and test drive a new 86/ BRZ and see if you can hear it. May give you some piece of mind or valid argument to take back to the shop?

I guess it could be the clutch that's making the noise. That would make sense since it's the last thing I replaced. Since Toyota refused to repair it under warranty, I changed the TOB and clutch with the help of a friend. The flywheel looked totally fine when we were in there. Everything was torqued back down according to specs too.

2017, 50 miles on the odo and it makes a crap ton of noise at <2k rpms. Asked the tech and he just shrugged and said nothing was broken. I guess clutch noise is normal on the brzs because it's not something I have heard before.

Maybe "dump" the clutch real hard a couple of times ...... maybe it will "snap" out of it ....... :D
