Tein Street Basis 18x9.5 40 Offset

I just installed Tein Street Basis and 18x9.5 40 offset wheels. Probably shouldn't run it so hard like I did but still holding strong. Some rub from break in and being to low to start.

I'm happy though!

Wheels = Miro 111s 18x9.5 offset 40
Tires = cheap something to get rubber in... Winrun 330 265/35/18. I will be getting summer tread as soon as I kill these.

1" measured all around in the coilovers. I will be raising to 1 1/4 asap.

Lemme know if you have questions. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3a683e5efc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...413c576a98.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...367280434e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9790731f99.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d546b7ec40.jpg

How is the ride quality compared to stock on the Tein Street Basis? Are they the Basis Z?

Yes, Street Basis Z.

Much tighter. I am still working out the drop with it breaking in. I've had to raise the back a little a couple of times.

I love it! With these wheel/tires and the coil overs the car handles twice as nice!

Slightly tighter ride, but not to the point that it's painful or annoying. Feels like stock except better. No rub even with aggressive driving and I have about an inch or less from fender to tire, so I am pretty impressed.

After almost a month having gone by, would you say you're still pleased with how they're holding up? Thinkin about going with the Tein's so I thought I'd ask.

Definitely. A month isn't much time, but no issues, and no complaints.

Looks really good, I'll probably be getting the teins once I get back from my summer vacation.

What did you have to do to get 265/35s to fit without rubbing? I was under the impression that even 255/35s were pushing it in the front at full lock...

Honestly, I didn't do anything. I read I may need adjustable end links, but I didn't get them because I wanted to try it out without them first. I just bolted everything back up and so far they haven't rubbed as far as I know. Few thousand miles now. It only rubbed in the rear the first day when I was running the car hard. Since then I don't think it has rubbed in the front or rear. (shrug)

How much did you pay for these? I see mostly $500 but someone else on this forum said $800 for the same set. I want a set but I'm not gonna pay that much when you can get the next step up for $700 something. doesn't even make sense.

It was like $540 shipped I think. Under 600 for sure.

The difference you are hearing about is the different Tein models. Not 100% of the difference between the three myself, but I believe the Street Basis Z does not have adjustable dampeners, only height adjustable.

Tein Street Basis Z = $500
Tein Basis = $650
Tein Flex Z = $850

Also they do not have tophats. You need to reuse stock and they aren't repairable AAANNND made in Taiwan instead of the usual (USA?).
