Wheel pushed back inside the wheel arch?

Long story short I bought a damaged BRZ to repair and use few months ago. I am not a mechanic or had any experience with project cars before this repair but wanted to have a go at a project.

I have managed to repair the car within few weeks and now been driving it for a while. I don't know how I didn't notice the fact that my left wheel was pushed back by about 2-3cm. I have checked the wishbone and it seems that its hasn't been impacted by the damage. I am wondering what is the best way to see/measure the wishbone or subframe to see what is actually damaged before ordering replacement parts.

the easy way to do it, take it to a good alignment shop. A good shop will inspect and if something is bent or damaged, they will tell you what it is. tell you how much it will cost for them to fix it. tell them no it's ok. fix it yourself with what they tell you and that's that. my guess is the control arm or strut assembly where it bolts onto the knuckle is bent could be a tie rod too. a lot of different things.

My guess if no arms are bent is that you have actual frame rail damage.

If that's not the case then you could have something as simple as a damaged/bent strut mount. I'd start here first.

Top 3 suspects would be the control arm, knuckle or strut. I work as an alignment tech and for setback issues like this it's the lower control arm 75% of the time.
