I know some of you are gamers, so any of you partaking in the extravaganza that is the summer sale?

I bought Rise of the Samurai for $2.50. Now I have all three.

There are definitely some good deals to be had there this round, but I'm avoiding it. I already have a backlog of games I've bought from them during sales I need to get to, plus I'm still "adventuring" my way around Skyrim.

Also, just downloaded "Sid Myer's Pirates" from Gamefly's "free to play" selection. That was one of my favorite games way back when. Looks like its the more recent version which is a good thing.

I think I need to retire so I can catch up on my gaming backlog full time! I may be the first person to use that as their retirement motivation. :lol:

I bought portal 2 for my gf and I and I bought the oblivion package.

My buddy that works at Blizzard posted this on his FB - Regarding the Steam Summer Sale: "Just a friendly heads up to people contemplating buying a game. If it is not one of the daily deals, do not buy it until the last day of the sale. The sale price will only go down, and many games are given an extra discount on the last day. You never know if you'll miss out on a 75% off because you were impatient."

ya the package that I got was 82% off so i was happy with that, next year i might wait longer.

picked up darksiders ($5) and saints row the third ($13) for amusement. Waiting to see if anything else really comes up.

God these sales are such bastards. I picked up Commander Keen games, repurchased the Company of Heroes game so I don't' have to install them from CD/update them (Plus I only had the first one), and I picked up Anomaly Warzone earth.

If Kingdoms of Amalur hits a sale I'm sold, and I'm waiting to see if ARMA2 gets anything better than 20%.

There's steam people on here? Why haven't we set up an FT86Club group?

Feel free to add me, mezdup. Only major thing I bought so far was the batman franchise for $25. Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Gotham City Impostors, all with all DLC.

Completely missed Batman! I was planning on picking that up but don't see it any longer.

haha yea. i know with the last sale they had, they had a recap sale with all the best deals so it's possible it'll pop up again. i mainly bought it for arkham asylum and arkham city, but i played some gotham city imposters tonight and i must say it's pretty good. it's like a team fortress and call of duty mix. great buy.

Going to have to watch for it. Sitting here right now watching Batman Begins with my son catching back up for the upcoming movie. Definitely my favorite superhero. Just a regular Guy with really cool toys.

I am getting Dead Island and the DLC for $16.98 right now.

Thanks for picking up Saints Row! Its fun game and it was fun to work on.

So far I've picked up Fallout New Vegas with all the DLC, Half Life 2, Borderlands +DLC, GTA IV, Just Cause 2, LA Noire, Metro 2033, Stalker Call of Pripyat, Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity, Star Wars KOTOR, Torchlight, Witcher 1 and 2. Seems like I'm going to be playing games for awhile, but they might get put on the back burner, I'm supposedly hearing when my personal FR-S is coming in, plus I'm taking my moms in to have the Five Axis five piece kit installed. Once mine comes in, I'm thinking TRD body kit.

haha damn, man. what's the total spent so far? i did that during the winter sale. must have spent about $60, which isn't really a crazy amount, but it was mostly on stuff that i have yet to play unfortunately lol. splinter cell conviction's one of the choices for the next vote. definitely been waiting on that one.

Eh its not as much spent as you think because my 360 died, so I had a bunch of games laying around and I dont play consoles much anymore. Gamestop currently has a deal where they give you 30 percent more when you trade anything in towards steam game cards. I traded in Skyrim, MW3, and Mario Kart and got 90 dollars worth of cards.

Ah I hear you. I used my gamestop credit toward a stream fund card too. Pretty nice that they started that. But yea, just came on to say that splinter cell won the vote. Got the whole series for $11.50.

My wallet is on a breathing apparatus because it's close to being murdered! Funny thing is I'll probably won't be even playing these games I purchased for a while or not at all. 75% off on games = :thumbup:

Thanks! I just picked it up. Well, I bought the Arkham City stuff. I was going to buy the franchise pack but already had Asylum and they wouldn't let you "gift" that one like they sometimes do. I don't play Imposters so saved my $5 total by picking the items separately.

Getting ready to head off right now to the theatre to see Dark Knight Rises.

caught it last night, incredible film. really a perfect ending to the trilogy.

So far I have purchased; Civ 5 GOTY, Dead Island and DLC, Fallout: New Vegas and DLC, SimCity 4 Deluxe, Portal 2, and Skyrim with DLC. I need to stop.

Yea, I had to stop looking, kept finding things I wanted to buy. What I keep reminding myself is that I would not be able to play all these games I want if I did nothing else for six months, and by then they will either be on sale again or will be cheaper anyways.

So many games, so little time.

Steam summer sale blew my game-buying allowance ;/
