2013 Bespoke vs 2014 stock headunit
Hey, I just purchased a 2013 FR-S and I am looking to upgrade the base stereo the easiest way, which is to swap a newer stereo in place of the old one cause it should be plug and play as far as that goes. However, here is where I ran into a problem, I searched all over these threads to see if there is a comparison between the 2013 bespoke headunit and the stock 2014 headunit, but there isn't any so I am stumped. Any suggestions to which one I should pick? The pros and cons to both and anything else I should know
Thanks! |
Hmm... Not quite sure if I understand your question.
For 2013, there were at least 3 FR-S head units offered in the US market: * the non-touch screen base unit * the touch screen/LCD base unit * the touch screen/LCD bespoke unit with navigation The touch screen/LCD base unit can be upgraded to the bespoke model by the addition of the navigation module, which simply plugs in to the base unit. BONUS: both the touch/LCD base unit and the bespoke unit support backup camera I do not believe there is any difference between the 2013 touch screen/LCD base unit and the 2014-2015 base unit, and the 2014-2015 base unit may also be upgraded to the bespoke model by addition of the navigation module... I am fairly confident the touch screen/LCD base units (US market) for 2013-2015 are all the Pioneer PT546-00140-BU. The navigation module/bespoke upgrade is the Harmon PT296-00140 |
