OFT - Warning about the company
 

Hey Everyone - I just wanted to share an experience I've had with Open Flash that's very unfortunate, and I really wanted to avoid having to share this - but it's my last option at this point.

About a year ago, I purchased an Open Flash Header - the UEL one, an OFT, and custom e-tuning.

I immediately installed the header, which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. The quality is top notch, installation was easy and a perfect fit, and the sounds is to die for with my Perrin cat-back.

Now - the issue - I ended up deciding that i'd stay with Ecutek, which i've had for a few years (My car is Vortech'd). I was fine with keeping the OFT and just dealing with that, but I wanted a refund for the e-tuning that i've never used.

I contacted @Shiv@Openflash by phone, he said that would be no problem to get the refund for that, just email him to get it taken care of. So i did. I forgot about it for a few months, but in November I followed up again. Nothing. I understand people are busy, and this likely ins't a 'high priority' item, so I didn't push too hard.

But as time marched on, I kept checking in, sending emails periodically to the same address i've had lengthy conversations with Shiv in before.

I've called several times over the last week, emailed a number of times as well, even tried the Website Contact form. In the end...

I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM OFT SINCE NOVEMBER 2016

This is completely unacceptable customer service, and while I am happy with the sales process and the products I received, I have to put this out there and warn the community against them. If they can't handle one small issue like this, what happens when something more serious happens?

Just hoping this might save someone else their $200 or more.

Not sure what's up with him lately. Members of the SBD Turbo group on facebook say they have messaged him about custom tunes/sent datalog files, and he usually replies with 'I haven't received it, try sending to ______' Seems like now that he has his Ferrari he has zero f*cks to give. Its too bad.

I sent an email using the contact in the website about the 2017 tunes and I got a response within 2 days saying they had em.

Only real contact I've had with him for what that's worth. 😐

Little off the topic but just made an order for a oft. 3 days have went by and says the order is still processing is this normal?

I waited a few weeks before finally giving them a call at OFT. It was regarding the 2017 (AT not MT) Tunes. After hanging up he sent me the tune file. I probably could have tried calling sooner, but eh.

I've called almost every day at varied times tying to get a hold of someone.

Was just about to say "dude got his nut. Has his 'Rarri 458, vaycays in France a few times a year with the fam now. He hasn't the time for us peasants and plebs" but you beat me to it.

It's a shame. He was a pioneer in providing inexpensive tuning hardware with off the shelf tunes.
