Header Leak Causing AVCS Codes?
I installed a jdl header a little over two months ago and made sure there were no leaks at the time of the install and checked a week later just to be sure. Everything was still tight, the header to over pipe was slightly misaligned but I couldn't visibly see any gaps or feel air rushing out.
Now 2 months later my car popped the dredded P000B code, I've never had any problem before so I cleared it. A few days later i popped the code again but accompanied with the P0014 code. So I decided to take the jdl header off and put the stock one back on and take it to the dealer. When i took the header off I found some clear evidence of slight exhaust leak coming from the driver side and a leak coming from the header/over pipe connection. Could this be the cause of these codes or is my car having symptoms of the failing avcs? Any helpful information would be appreciated! |
It's highly unlikely these are the cause as a manifold has no impact on the AVCS. There's obvious AVCS issues, both codes are for exhaust cam on bank 1.
Could be oil related: http://www.gt86ownersclub.co.uk/foru...21.html#176421 |
Alright I just wasn't sure if it may have affected that or not. When i got the first p000b code I contacted a local toyota tech that I befriended when I got the car, he told me to change the oil as well and see if it comes back, which I did. I'm guessing mine has succumbed to avcs bug.
