Wes' red Toyota 86 Artisan Spirits
Thought I'd start a thread to help you guys with your purchases. Whenever I get something new, I'll update it in the thread title. If you need additional pics of something, I'll be happy to put them up. But anyway, here's my baby when I picked her up - bone stock.

Purchased on ebay. Item numbers 132088669462 and 142294812312. Seller zetaauto
Before https://s26.postimg.cc/l1br6c7e1/image.jpg After https://s26.postimg.cc/ls4hc49rd/image.jpg That's it for now. But several things are on their way. Rims, tires, new knob, interior carbon trim, catback, spoiler, handbrake, logos, and I forget what else. Stay tuned! |
Replaced the cheap looking plastic OE reverse lockout with a cheap $7 chinese item that I got from AliExpress. Came in about 2 weeks. It's aluminium and black and looks sharp for $7!
https://s26.postimg.org/g8umwg67d/image.jpg Now I'm just waiting for my WC Lathe Werks knob. |
Didn't even notice the cupholders. Looks sweet!
|
Thanks Philip!
|
These things arrived today. A WC Lathe Werks knob and a Loden emblem in satin silver. Can't wait to install them.

So a bunch of stuff came today from FT86motorsports and being an excited little girl, I went and installed it right away.
But before doing that I went and dropped off the spoiler to the painter. https://s26.postimg.cc/of7gwodbd/image.jpg The carbon fins went on first - really easy 30-60 second install. I think they look great, but I got stung with $60 customs fees. Oh well. https://s26.postimg.cc/fvo2yx4yx/image.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/dd2dy8j8p/image.jpg Then it was the carbon door handle covers. https://s26.postimg.cc/y7a52bo89/image.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/97mvykw2x/image.jpg Then the carbon ac trim covers https://s26.postimg.cc/bxw7vrsrt/image.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/sbg7ex8x5/image.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/j2e14t015/image.jpg Then the carbon cover for the rectangular spot where change goes. I say change cause I don't have no damn seat heater buttons. https://s26.postimg.cc/tt694831l/image.jpg Then the gearshift surround and handbrake handle. While they do look great, I noticed the shifter surround cover didn't cover the whole thing fully. You can still see silver poking around the edges. While on the transmission tunnel it actually provides a nice visual break from the monotony, on the left and right sides I don't like it as much. Could always paint black. The handbrake handle was a bit tough. Had to twist and pull pretty hard. My years at the gym paid off! Not sure why everyone unscrews the button? Mine came off and the new one went on without ever removing the button. Looks lovely. https://s26.postimg.cc/5ix6z3m21/image.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/5dy13644p/image.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/o7ju062cp/image.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/iknh2ozu1/image.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/hjn8dkiuh/image.jpg https://s26.postimg.cc/in7cpj3hl/image.jpg That's it for now but I have some more stuff coming in the next day or two so stay tuned. |
Installed SRP heel and toe pedal (no drilling).

Looks great! A lot of our first mods are almost the same haha.
CF everything in the interior!!! :bonk: |

those side mirrors are definitely a good addition.

I have the rexspeed mirrors as well, love how they cut the glare at night.

Nice looking mods so far.
Quick question: for the reverse lockout that you got from Aliexpress, I bought that too but am not sure how to go about the install. Did you use the same pin from the original to the new one? |

I installed the GT86 emblem to replace the Toyota one. The only drawback is that for some reason toyota decided to indent the emblems, so you can see a semi-circular indentation right below the new emblem. Not very noticeable but annoying nonetheless. Also took a pic next to my gf's cooper

Digging those rexspeed side mirrors where did you get them?
|
changed out the satin 86 emblem for a chrome one (satin in bottom right pic)

I absolutely love all the carbon fiber inserts!
I'm a fellow Canadian in the U.S. Pacific Northwest - anyone know a good supplier to get those carbon fiber inserts here in the U.S.? |

Thanks! Absolutely. You can try ft86speedfactory.com, 86worx.com, carbonart.ca (pretty sure they ship worldwide) |
Nice build when I was at the dealership was bouncing back and forth between red and halo white. When with halo but good choice! How do the Loden emblems fit on the bumper some posts I read said they were too stiff and didn't mold to the bumper great?
Check out my 87 build I have some aliexpress parts too! Doesn't sound like my reverse lockout is vibrated. But was easier to pound on the pin with silver I'm afraid the black would chip with my method of install. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118243 |

Installed the SARD wing today. She needs to get lowered asap.

So I finally had the coilovers installed with some generous help of fellow twin owners. The coilovers are MeisterR Zeta CRD and it's a 1.5" drop at the front and not sure what it is at the back. Looks to be about the same, or slightly less. Taking her in for an alignment on thursday although she feels perfect. I played around with the settings, first having the stiffness set to the middle (16 clicks from either end), which was too bumpy for me. I then dialed in 4 more clicks toward the softer side and the ride is now perfect. Here is a before and after pic.
https://s26.postimg.cc/72ev7q44p/image.jpg It's a nice clean drop and there's lots more room to go lower should I desire it, but at the moment I'm happy with the look and feel like it's a perfect compromise between usability and looks. |
Those are the coilovers I went with too with about 1.5" drop. Car looks great with the drop. I still have mine set in the middle. Set it there and then forgot about it so it seems right on for the street

That carbon in the interior looks nice!
|
My Dog Wes, LOL!
|
I guess I'll post this here too. Some useless interior and exterior decoration

god bless aliexpress

Received the MCE knob covers and HURRAH, they fit over the carbon panel no problem. They're very thin, and fit very tightly. No need for double sided tape or glue. I really hate the OEM knobs so I'm very happy with the result.
