What do you use for tranny and diff
What oil should I use for my AT to change the transmission fluid and differential fluid?
Also I have FI |
You'll get lots of differing opinions, and probably a few "do a search" comments. If it were my car, I would go with Redline D6 trans fluid for the auto, and Redline 75W85 or 75W90 GL5 gear oil for the differential.

I used Ford XT M5 QS Synthetic Transmission Fluid for the transmission and Amsoil Severe Gear 75w110 for the differential.
The Ford Synthetic transmission fluid is GL4 and the Miata guys rave about it, I had some left over from the Miata days. Much better shifting than OE. |

The 75W85 is the recommended fluid, with 75W90 as an acceptable alternative (by the manual). 75W85 is a bit thinner than 75W90. Either one will be fine. You're in Texas, so I would probably go with the 90. If you plan on tracking the car in the heat, it probably wouldn't hurt to step up to the 75W110 as @wrh3 has done. |

Anyone have any experience with valvoline maxlife atf in these? I'm looking at it for cost reasons, the car doesn't and won't see the track, and from what I can tell it's a better option than the toyota ws. The motul multi-af is in my price range as well, but for the price difference i can get an extra drain and fill out of the valvoline. Thoughts?

Motul gear 300 is GL4/5.
U can buy 4 bottle and replace both transmission and diff. |
Not in an automatic I can't. Well I guess I could, but that'd probably go poorly.

Thanks for the disturbing mental image of getting "tranny fluid" all over the place... |
