A Lot's Happened In A Year: From tC to BRZ

In February of 2016 I purchased my first car; an automatic 2013 Scion tC.

I didn't know much better than the fact that it looked sporty, had a beautiful interior, and it was very agile compared to my dad's hand-me-down 2002 Mercedes ML500 SUV I was driving for the past two years. Well, over the next couple months I started to really learn the REAL substance to the car scene and what each car was strong and weak in. I always had a love for Evos so I picked the Evo crowd to hang around. As time went on I started to want more than an Automatic Transmission NA 4 Banger was and really picked up a desire for something quicker. So as time went on I saved some money and in October of 2016 I bought my first project car. I bought a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. Manual, Turbo, AWD, with a 4G63T. I was in love.

Eventually I decided I was ready to jump up my daily from the tC to something with a wider range of aftermarket options, better community, wider mod support, and retain the same comfort. I did a lot of consideration whether I was finally ready for the Evo I always wanted. After much thought I realized a GSX AND an Evo X was going to be unreasonable and too much for me to keep up with. I opted for a more reliable NA 4 Banger and my alternate choice from the Evo had always been the 86. So I started my hunt. My good friend Allan was helping me search and search for a good BRZ Limited because I needed the heated seats and push to start. Well after hunting around, it became apparent there were not a lot in good shape for sale. Allan's coworker just posted up his Porsche Cayman S for sale and my friend Allan started to get tempted. I put an offer on his 2015 BRZ Series.Blue and after some thought and price discussion, he sold me his Series.Blue with only 17k miles. I couldn't have been happier with such a clean and pristine BRZ.

Car looks good, did your friend mod it before he sold it to you or did you do that?

He did all the modifications it has, all of which I love would have done myself as well. Only thing I plan to change is the single exit track pipe to a dual exit catback.

Nice! You still have your tC? I bought a new tC too, back in '09. Definitely not in the same class as my BRZ, but it had a TON of backseat legroom for a hatchback coupe.. great for a night out with friends. The reclining back seats were a nice feature too. But not nice enough to keep it.

No I had to give up the tC to get the BRZ. But I definitely miss the hatch space with the seats down and the leg room with the seats up! Definitely a lot of fun with company!
