Carbon fiber hoods

Just out of curiosity which hood company would be better to purchase for carbon fiber? Carbon creations or Seibon? The price doesn't bother me but I'm more concerned for quality and fit.

i would say Seibon but i will let you know that my friend got their TS style hood and the fitment was a tad off.

Soloside 03-16-2017 04:44 PM

I'd look into VIS as well.

Soloside 03-16-2017 04:46 PM

Don't forget to also look at VIS.

I think they are all the same with fitment as in hit or miss. I think the Seibon is thicker resin which makes it heavier, and Vis and carbon creation is thinner. I say get whatever design you like the best.

I hope you are buying it with vents for the purpose of extra cooling.
Most carbon hoods are heavier than stock.
If you are buying it for looks, I'd tell you to wrap it instead and save 500bucks.

Of course I'm getting it with vents. I'm not a big fan of the flat hood cf or oem

Please don't wrap your hood, you'll get made fun of

I bought a vented carbon fiber hood just to match other CF accents, plus i will eventually boost the car so figured why not :)

Siebon/VIS i've had good luck with in the past/friends but some did require some re drilling of the holes in order to make them fit better. Make sure you go to a body shop if you're having problems with it.
