That brings us back to the Lucas Red & Tacky #2. It's "equivalent" to the Nichimoly specified in the service manual.

But I have some not-so-good news about it. I cleaned and re-lubed mine last summer. It just started hanging up again last week. I also have to take mine apart again. :(

Put me in. Mine pedal squeaks like a door of haunted house, but not everytime. Can i spray wd40 to isolate the sounds? I want to make sure its the slave before taking it apart, @Ultramaroon

Pull the top of the fork all the way forward to bottom out the slave piston. Then, before it extends back out, jiggle the hell out of the fork. That will move some shit around in the main pivot.

I'm betting the sound will go away for a few days at least.

Never touched the actual clutch. Just cleaned, greased, and reassembled the TOB, fork, and related components. I agree. It's shameful but I'll figure out a solution eventually. It's what I do.

Mine isn't creaking yet like it did last summer. The TOB is starting to hang up again where it slides on the transmission input shaft cover. If it gets too bad, that's where it eventually bends the fork.

On the Fork-to-TOB, Fork-to-Pivot, Fork-to-Slave, and finally TOB-to-Input Shaft locations, I have always used Sil-Glyde. I was taught this by a master-tech from Toyota when I was an apprentice and worked at a Toyota dealership for 4 years. It seems to do the trick well from my experiences. It is a high-temp silicone lubricant which does very well with temperature/dust/dirt/grime/elements/time/etc.

There are plenty of lubes that you can use that are equal to this and it looks like the Lucas stuff should be good to use as well. I think the big thing is to lubricate all the locations necessary with a decent grease.

I would never use any spray type grease, it doesn't have enough substance to last.

Interesting. My friend suggested I may have overshot my clutch adjustment when returning it back to normal spec.... I'll give this a try before going in.
