2017 CDC Autocross

The last Captial Driving Club Autocross event of 2017 is Saturday, November 4th in Waldorf, MD. Click here to sign up:

If you've autocrossed before you know the drill...

If not, autocross is a super fun and competitive automotive sport where you attack a cone course (usually set up in a large parking lot) as quickly as you can. Autocross and specifically the CDC are VERY friendly to new drivers who are learning/haven't done this before and the FR-S/BRZ is a great platform for autocross.

FAQs and Answers:

1) Costs $30.00 to $40.00 (you can become a member of the CDC for $30.00 a year and get the reduced price)

2) There is very little wear and tear on your car (I’ve been doing it for 3 years, still factory brake pads, and tires replaced due to normal wear)

3) Top speeds don't really exceed 50 mph

4) Automatic or manual transmission is fine

5) Yes you need a helmet, no you don't have to buy one (they have loaners)

6)You are outside all day. Dress accordingly/bring water/wear sunscreen, etc.

HOW TO REGISTER/WHAT TO DO

1) Follow the link above and fill out the form.

a) If you wish to become a member of the CDC, select "yes" next to the question "*Are you a CDC member?" and put the number '0' in the field "*Your CDC Car #". In the notes section at the bottom, say that you'd like to join the CDC. Otherwise select “no”.

REGISTRATION IS AT FIRST ONLY OPEN TO MEMBERS AND GUESTS OF MEMBERS. USE MY NAME (Brandon Kyker) IN ORDER TO SIGN UP EARLY.

b) Tire Type: more than likely "Low Performance Tires with Treadwear Rating >= 201
Vehicle Horsepower: more than likely "151 to 200 HP"
Vehicle Weight: "2,501 to 3,000 lbs"

c) You do not need to select "Optional Classes"

2) Make sure your car isn't broken or anything and try to clean it out before autocross (as you have to take out all loose items etc. at the event)

3) Bring cash (as they only take cash) and I strongly recommend comfortable clothing based on weather and being outside, and bringing a camp chair and a water bottle or two (events go approx 8-9am until 3-4pm). They also serve hot dogs and snacks (again cash only).

4) HAVE FUN!

I do not represent or endorse the CDC in any official capacity. This is purely a recreational post.

Registration submitted.

I'm not a member, but I tried listing my car number as 0 and then saying I would become a member at the event.

However my registration was denied, can I not sign up until the non-members registration is open?

You'll have to email them I'm not sure

4C on Saturday and FRS for the Sunday test and tune. See y'all there!

Man, I want to be there so bad but I'm stuck upgrading servers on the evening of the 17th until probably 3am. I still might decide to do it, but that sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Shit sells out like N'sync tickets...

Non-Member sign up usually opens the Friday (one week) before the event unless things have changed for this season.

I wasn't able to get a spot in the autocross event, but I did get into the test and tune, and I'm also signing up to be a member so I don't have to wait to register.

Probably won't have my car back from Ptuning until Saturday morning when they open. Guess I'll catch the next CDC event.

JakeRogue 03-16-2017 02:23 PM

Demand it be ready Friday night
