Shift knob
I am not too hung up on mods - especially interior stuff, but I really prefer a plain polished aluminum ball for a shift knob. Not egg shaped, not oval or elongated, a ball. It's just classic.
No it does not get too hot or cold for me, I have had one in my NC Miata since it was new. Mine is made by VooDoo, who seems to make tons of knobs for Miatas, but almost nothing else. I tried to pull it off the Miata and add it to the 86, but the shifter in the Miata is larger diameter. Anyone know of anyone that makes something like that? |
Not sure about polished, but if brushed then wclathewerks makes nice quality knobs. I have a titanium sphere from him. They can get a bit pricey though.

Thanks man, I'll check them out.

I have a few polished/black anodized shift knobs. Comes in at 396 grams. Here are a few pictures.

The WC Lathe Werks knobs look great, but another forum member (on ADVrider we call each other inmates) told me via PM that VooDoo does in fact have a listing for our car. While they do not offer polished like in my Miata they have brushed aluminum which will work/feel just fine.
I ordered it online and had a tracking number within an hour. Less than $50 for American made including 2 day delivery. I think that is pretty hard to beat. |
