Traction control turns on crazy when turnin left but not right?

So for like 30k miles whenever I make an aggressive turn left the traction control turns on every single time. Violently too. Got new tires and an alignment everything is in spec. When I turn right no issues at all!

When I drift a little bit everything warms up and the car feels significantly better while turning left but still TC will cut in wayyyyy to early.

Anyone have any clues so I can tell the dealer what to look for. They're clueless.

Thanks fam.

New tires too, the car will feel very skittish when only driving left.

I honestly feel as if it's the left rear shock.

Turn right, same turn same speed, no skittish handling its natural!

Turn left, same turn same speed, car will jerk around, TC turns on.

Help a brotha out here lol

Do you have aftermarket wheels?

Nah 03-01-2017 03:09 PM

Completely stock car. I've done research a few people have stated it's the rear left axle nut that needs to be re torqued

8RZ 03-01-2017 03:15 PM

So have you tried re-tightening the axle nut?

strat61caster 03-01-2017 03:19 PM

Axle nut would be audible long before it caused handling issues.

Check alignment, a good shop will also inspect for damage at the same time and could catch something damaged, loose, or a leaking damper.

I could see this being a loose toe link or out of spec toe, a blown damper on one corner could also cause some funkiness.

Re torquing the nut now. Will update shortly. Tech said 30 minutes.

I honestly think the damper is blown in that corner but how would I get it covered I do have an extended warranty

If the problem persists I may just get some coilovers and see if that'll solve the issue...

If there's a tech already underneath it he should be checking everything.

Never mod to solve a problem. That's just asking for more headaches.

So the dealer said it's torque to spec... I ask them to torque it to 150 and said it'll void my warranty. Fuck that. I'm just going to buy the nut myself have my local shop put it on for 50 bucks and see if the problem goes away.

If it doesn't I'll take it in again and say I believe it's the cv joints in the rear becuase there is obviously something wrong with the car.

Really annoyed with the fact that I can't turn left without my car going out of control...

tato.valverde 03-01-2017 04:32 PM

tell the dealership to "zero out" your VSC

It will not have anything to do with the driveline. It will be suspension, wheel speed sensors, and/or alignment.

I don't know how it would suddenly go out of cal but if absolutely nothing else is wrong, follow @tato.valverde's recommendation. The system does require initial calibration.

Hell, maybe it's the VSC system itself. Seems like it would throw a code, though. :iono:

Guys good news. I guess the tech did torque it back to spec and finally my steering feels perfect! My wheel is straight goodness the car handles so well I'm in love again.

But the VSC is still quite aggressive but turning feels much more natural. How could I zero out the VSC my self? Trying to avoid dealer as much as possible

The spindle nut has nothing to do with vehicle handling. Not saying this to be snide, just being direct. This is placebo.

You can't zero out the VSC on your own unless you have access to Techstream.

See "readme" below. drill down to brake>brake control /dynamic control systems>vehicle stability control system.
