Exhaust Systems for below $600
Turning 18 in about a week and having some money saved up I was thinking about making a move on an Exhaust kit, the one i had been looking at in particular was the Mxp Comp RS Catback which I believe is being sold exclusively through FT86SpeedFactory. I watched the FT86 speed factory's installation and demo and they sounded and looked pretty neat. Does anyone here have experience with those in particular who can give me a personal review on them or even a heads up on more systems around that $599-$650 range? I'd appreciate it! thank you so much.
Here's a link to the product I had mentioned above. http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/mxp-...l#.WLTtNG8rKUk |
Go to eBay or Amazon and search 'Manzo' .... they have a few different versions. From memory they have.
Type 1 - similar to the Q300 Type 2 - Similar to a greddy exhaust, not sure which one, but its 2.75" piping and VERY loud with a UEL...that said, I own this and love it Type 3 - Similar to #2 above, maybe a bit quieter? Not sure... I don't think any of these are more than $400 |
you have so many choices/combo to choose from in that price range!
Invidia N1 catback Tsudo Straight Pipe Megan Racing etc.. etc... Don't forget that you can go with axle-backs too/muffler delete. Really depends on what your goals are for the future with your exhaust set up. |
Nameless Axleback is the way to go... it sounds like a horny beast chasing it's prey down the forest

I have the Comp RS- It sounds good IMO, it can be a little "boomy" inside the car with a lot of low frequency noise, but that's subjective. I recently added a header and its relatively loud, if you plan on doing more exhaust work down the road (front pipe, header etc) id recommend something quieter to start. Unless of course you want it loud. I have put an exhaust on every car I've owned and this is probably the loudest of them all on the inside of the car.. But its a solid exhaust for the $$

I've been happy with this one.
* adds a bit of growl to the exhaust note * well made * easy to install * very little drone I suggest the 2.5" piping and 5" mufflers. humfrz |
18? If you're planning to go to college, save that money. If you're not, or you are going but enjoy making poor financial choices in your life, continue.
Personally, just get a muffler delete. Much cheaper solution to "I want this thing to make noise." You could probably find one used for $100, spend the $500 left on an OFT and start saving for a header. Boom, you get noise and more power. |
OP check out the MXP RS exhaust over at FT86 SPeed Factory, they sound wicked for the price, and look really good too.

Yonaka makes a decent exhaust for $350. I had one on my old Integra. My sister drives it now and it's still holding up well. Probably close to 50k miles at this point.

Another vote for a muffler-delete pipe, save your money for beer.

Why not headers? Get some more noise and make more power. If you want just noise, you should've got a Honda.

Total cost: a set of head gaskets, a 6 pack for the local with the cable, and $100 to support a local business....AND it'll be quick! :w00t: |

Most local shops will have parts they like to use, and can to decent work with stainless. Remember: mandrel>pie cuts>crush bends. |
