CSG x MXP Catback + Ace A350 - Review & Video

I've recently installed both the new CSG "Touring 86" catback and the Ace A350 and would like to share some thoughts as well as some video sound clips.

Install: Everything was very straight forward and this has been covered multiple times. A couple things to note specific to the Ace that I found - you are supposed to re-use your overpipe to front pipe studs. Mine were stuck in pretty good, so I just bought a couple of M10 x 1.25 30mm long bolts. Also, be mindful of when you torque the header nuts down. I found that my access to those nuts was very limited with the overpipe in place. Something to watch out for.

The catback was a very painless install, adjusting it to get the tips just where I wanted them was very simple. It fits perfectly and looks great!

Other thoughts: Both the header and the exhaust were very impressive parts from a quality standpoint. The CSG catback has a few cool welded on tags identifying as an official CSG catback, makes it feel a bit more special. :w00t:

Sound: Upon first start up of this setup, I was blown away by how quiet it all was. Coming from a custom catback with no mufflers, it was night and day. Even with the higher idle on a cold start, it does NOT have the obnoxious wake-the-neighbor barking sound at start up. Driving around town, it sounds slightly louder than stock. Enough to notice it's not stock, but not enough to ever be annoying. Drone is non-existent. None. Conversations can be had without shouting at your passenger. Overall, I could not be happier with the setup.

Onto the video and pictures. As @CSG Mikehas mentioned in a different post, it is nearly impossible to accurately capture the sound of the exhaust. I've done my best to give a sample of what it sounds like, but my $40 lavalier does not compare to professional equipment. It sounds somewhat "buzzy" in the video, but it is a clean, smooth note up to redline. No rasp. That being said, it is best watched on headphones or with some kind of external speaker (no phone speakers!).

Thanks again to @CounterSpace Garage and @CSG David for their excellent customer service and advice. The car has been transformed with the Ace A350+ CSG catback + Delicious Tune.

Mic was placed in the tow hook door opening on the rear fascia. I may try experimenting with this, anyone have suggestions on a better location?

Just loud enough to know it's not stock. Hahaha

loud is subjective from person to person. Everyone has different tolerances, but with this car because RACE CAR! :burnrubber:

Mine should be arriving for install soon. I can’t wait. I didn’t order the exhaust however.

Really nice sound. I like the sound alot! How much did that combo set you back? The whole package.. I am curious

With a tune and ceramic coating on the header, that looks to be about $4K.

While this combo represents probably the best combo you can buy for the twins, at 4k it's way more then I would want to spend. But it does sound good and I know the ace 350 is the best header for this car :)
