Hitting a racoon at 45mph is bad m'kay

In November, on my way back from an Epic 6,249 mile road trip (Sheboygan, WI, to Portland OR, then down the PHC to LA and then over to the SEMA show, then back to shoebottom) I hit a furry 14lb bowling ball. :mad0260:

This will not buff out......

At least I did recover the Decepticon emblem :party0030:

When the INS adjuster was here, he was saying this would all be easy to replace and not cost that much. lol
A 20 min estimate turn in to him being here 3.5 hours. lol Evidently they have/had no experience with the RS 1.0, cause once he phoned it all in they were all in a tither.

If it was not for the pics of the remnants of the coon, they were trying to insinuate that I hit a curb or a parking block.

Anyhow, new bumper cover and grill and misc other parts are on the way. They are having me send out the front spoiler to have a repair attempted. IDk how that's going to look, anything less then perfect, it will be rejected.

In the mean time, since the font bumper is off, time to install a Mishmoto Oil Cooler and the Greedy Air Intake Snorkle that's sitting on the shelf.

I hit my Coon at almost 30. Scooped him up into the bumper. Took out the bumper and condenser on his way in. Scarred the crap out of me when I was looking at the damage and he moved. So now there is a really confused raccoon in the bumper. Had to cut the rest of those plastic slats so he could get out. Then he ran off into the woods without saying goodbye.

Hit a duck doing 70 with my Lancer once. It was standing in the middle of the road but I had loads of room to get around it. It decided to take off. Right where I was going around it. Was very messy!

Had the car about 3 weeks, went for a night drive with my brother in his 06 honda civic Si. I was leading on the way out of town, left flowing sweeper followed by a blind right and a bunny rabbit. Time slowed down. I watched him freeze and turn into the light. Too close to dodge, all I could think was bugs going though my grill. Then thump and it was over. I pulled into an intersection a mile later and got out to survey the damage. My bro pulls up. "Did you see that dead rabbit on the road?" "Yeah, pull your car around and give me some light." No damage. Sometimes they jump when startled. If this one had jumped, he'd have came up the hood at me.
